Are his thoughts the same on Bettache? Anybody who went to Orient last season saw the talent in that boy that night and not having in the Germany squad left me frustrated.
He didn't mention Bettache but I would imagine if he's fit that he will be off to Budapest with the U23's.
Yeah I’ve read the interview and seen that now myself.
On a side point, the existence of Under 23 teams winds me up. One of my major bugbears with modern football. If you’re at a club at 20, 21, 22 or 23 and can’t get in the first team, wake up and smell the bacon and go and play first-team football somewhere else. I’ll caveat that by saying I do believe Bettache is good enough for the first team.
Sinclair Armstrong played in the U23s tour match against a Hungarian side and QPR lost 2-0. Bettache and Alfa played all 90 minutes, whilst Sinclair and De Silva were subbed after 65 mins. It is always possible that Armstrong failed to get good service, but it is equally possible he struggled to make an impact. It would be good to get Chris Ramsay's thoughts on Sinclair's current abilities.
It was no surprise to hear Mick Beale mention that the club have received 8 or 9 enquiries from teams in League 1, League 2 and Scotland who want to take Sinclair on loan.
He really is a rough diamond who with a bit of polishing could become a star. If we can give 4 year contracts to the likes of Kakay and Hamalainen this lad certainly deserves an extended contract.
Anyway, I'd give him a new contract just for his priceless reaction to Diengs goal against Sunderland.

😄 I am torn between wanting him to go off to another club to get polished, and him staying to become a regular sub for us. I guess the question is: What development will he get in our First Team squad? In the past the training has been team-based - rather than designed to enhance personal development....
He has signed a contract extension until 2024, and winger De Silva has added a year to his. All positive!
He is such an exciting prospect that after the way he's started this season I hope they improve his deal and extend his contract for longer.
At the moment they are protecting him by just giving him 20 minutes substitute appearances but he really can't do any worse than Dykes so let's start him and give him an hour.
I would start him in the FA cup and then look to start him in a league game if he does well. (If that goes well I would start contract extension talks too!)

A loan should not be considered for two simple reasons
1 - if it’s successful bigger clubs will circulate. We’d get him for what? Half a season maybe? 30 Games before he’s off. Maybe not even that. If it is a success we’d look like mugs for not putting him in
2 - If it’s a failure, it suggests he can’t do it a lower level and we’re stuck with a lame duck who doesn’t attract much attention in the transfer market nor is considered good enough to impact on our first team
Any loan for Armstrong is a lose lose. He should be involved in this team and only this team

From Beale's press conferences he says that Armstrong will be staying and be part of the first team and I'm more than happy that he is. The energy he brings when getting onto the pitch and the crowds reaction to him gives the team a real boost.
At the moment Armstrong deserves more minutes but it's understandable that Beal has to manage him correctly because you cant play with his current intensity and energy without burning out or getting an injury.
A win against Rotherham and Sinclair getting a goal would certainly make for a good weekend.
After seeing what we saw on Wednesday night, given the stage he’s at in his career too, I expect to see more of him playing as an outside forward than I would as a 9 for the remainder of the season. I think he’s a better option as a replacement for Chair/Willock whenever they’re unavailable than Roberts, partly because Roberts plays as if he’s playing a game of five-a-side in the park and is a bit lethargic with the ball, and partly because Sinclair offers something completely different with his pace.
Expect he could be the answer whilst Willock recovers.
