I can’t believe they offered him a 3 and half year deal That was probably why there was a delay on appointing him He was probably haggling for a bigger deal than he was originally offered

"If the the club has genuinely done its research in appointing Beale and Critchley but the fans are calling for the managers head after 6 and 10 games respectively, is it,
1. The owners intensive research that's flawed and wrong.
2. The fans expectations aren't realistic.
3. It doesn't matter who is the manager because the majority of the players aren't good enough or are sick notes.
Lots of players are underperforming though Good managers like Beale motivate players like willock and look how well he played at the start of the season Nobody called for beales head,he walked after using us as a tick on his CV I agree that some players would still be dire even if we had Man City’s manager here
Neil critchley will not win 4 football matches So we just got to accept poor decisions and bad running of the club is going to put us in league one next season

If you don't believe me about Beale have a look for the post on this site under the heading Beale Out (Madrangerboy). At that time Beale had been in the job for a total of 6 games and you even posted suggesting he be given time.

It's a mix of 1 and 3. Clearly something is up with the players mentality. Aside from September and October we've been rubbish for a whole year now. And on this occasion after Beale I don't think they did extensive research. They talked a lot about it in the summer, but this time it felt like Critchley was rushed through after we got battered against Burnley. That made no sense even at the time to announce it after the game. The fact Critchley got a deal even longer than Beale suggests we got in a panic after that game and agreed to him terms.
I said at the time Critchley felt like an ok but safe and uninspiring appointment and so that has proven because he is so flat and monotone. Even if he was my manager in an office I'd listen to him and then think "yeah whatever Neil" and just ignore him quite easily. Would you be scared of him? I genuinely don't think he's the right character for QPR right now and 9 games without a win just enhances that.
If I lost a game or was losing at half time Neil critchley in the dressing room I wouldn’t be that bothered If Neil Warnock was in there I’d of dreaded the prospect Critchley isn’t the type of manager we need right now but the 3 and half year deal has put a noose round the clubs neck We have to hope he can nicely get them to win some football matches and stop us getting relegated
I do think NC was a rushed 'shoe-in' they believed would rebuild team confidence and build upon the strategy and tactics developed by Warburton and Beale. Sadly, for whatever reason, he has done neither; and I do find myself dreaming of what might have been if Warburton was still in charge....

It's an interesting point that both you and singlespeed make about being scared of Critchley because that presumes that the players are not giving 100% but they would if he gave them the 'hairdryer' treatment.
I suppose apart from the players and his coaches we'll never know how he reacts behind closed doors and it's just conjecture but I'd suggest that whether he's calm and collective or a shouter the majority of our squad aren't able to do any better because they are giving their best and that's their level.
We could bring in Neil Warnock or even Alex Ferguson and they can shout as much as they want but my point remains that it wont make Dickie faster or more manouverable, it wont turn Dykes into a prolific goalscorer, it wont make Richards, Roberts, Amos, JCS injury free and it won't turn the likes of Kakay, Hamalainen, Dozzell etc., into Championship quality players. Even if we could prove some playera are only giving 80% or 90% the lack of decent player investment means there's next to no competition for places and until we have a fully fit and on form squad IMO it's unfair to criticise Critchley. You only have to look at Saturday's squad to know that any team that has to start an inexperienced 19yo as it's main striker and has to include Kakay, and Gubbins on the bench is limited. Yes we could have started Chris Martin but his last start was weeks and weeks ago and he played just 9 minutes.
As fans the teams current form hurts everyone of us and I'd love to say that we would try harder but our own Albert Adomah who is better and fitter than most of us is proof that you can be a fan and give 100% but you need a lot more to perform in the Championship.
Rightly or wrongly the owners decided that Critchley should be our manager and now he's the incumbent boss I hope that the board judge Critchley on when he has a fully fit squad available rather than on an injury hit team with players still looking for fitness or form, however, if they do decide to replace Critchley I just hope it's not for Nathen Jones.
I do though think certain players aren't giving their all. Look at the first goal yesterday - where is Laird? Tyler Roberts' efforts all season are questionable. Andre Dozzell was a passenger yesterday. At Hull even Sam Field was putting in some very light challenges.
And those who are lacking confidence - like Rob Dickie, Chris Willock, Andre Dozzell etc - could do with a more motivational manager. I suspect Critchley is neither giving them the hairdryer nor putting an arm around them. There's just something about him that suggests he's not what we need.

I'm not sure that Warburton had any tactics but I do agree that the board hoped Critchley could build upon Beale's early season success despite us being in a slump. I think that once Beale had made up his mind to go the club had a predicament because with the season already underway and in its early stages the choice of managers available was limited.
However, once the club made up it's mind to appoint Critchley it seemed to have been met with a favourable response and on this site their were posts saying,
He ticks all the main boxes.
Seems the sensible choice.
The teams in poor form and lacks confidence.
Good Manager.
He certainly needs time.
It will take some time and it won't be this season.
What I find strange is if Critchley was a good manager who'd inherited a team that was in poor form and lacked confidence but it was known he'd need some time to see any improvement and that it wouldnt be seen this season surely talk of replacing him after just 10 games is premature.
