They needed to do this, he's basically replacing Hoos and Ferdinand, some fresh blood with fresh ideas.
Short term we could do with spending a few quid this month but long term they need to start having some joined up thinking otherwise it's never going to get any better
I think it's positive that the owners have made this appointment and show they are still interested
The issue is that we need to see an iimmediate improvement on the pitch that will stop us getting relegated. The consequence should we fail to stay up will be that not only do we lose the current c.£10m of Championship TV and prize money but we will also lose the new sky TV rights of a further £8m in 2024/25.
I just think if we were mid table and things going well fresh blood probably wouldn't be needed. I agree we need immediate improvement on the pitch to try and stay up but not sure this affects that, potentially helps as is no longer a rudderless ship. My concern is that the new fella had a whiff of bullshit about him so not sure if it will work or not but glad they have done something
Ultimately they've clearly spent far more than they should in the last 2 years so this is the consequence and that is probably going to be relegation unless we manage to sell anyone.
I do think despite him saying we have nothing to spend that we'll see a few players arrive on free transfers and loans
