Based on what I've seen from pre-season and from Wednesday, Lumley won't have too much to worry about. Kelly doesn't fill me with a huge amount of confidence.
I know he's come from the Scottish leagues and will take time for him to adjust, however the only two things he appears to have on Lumley so far is good distribution and the fact he can save a penalty.
However both of our keepers are young and still learning, and will both therefore make mistakes. It's a case of how patient we are and how many mistakes we're prepared to allow before swinging in and changing it up.
I agree ranger-boy and in respect of Lumleys mistake I think Rangel has to take some of the blame because his pass to him was poor.
Having finally seen it, I don’t even think Lumleys mistake was TOO bad. Yes he sliced it, but players slice efforts all the time. It’s just unfortunate as he’s the goalkeeper so it’ll be remembered more. It was still a bit of impressive quick thinking from their player to get it across to Afobe as he did
I'm with you ranger-boy having seen it back. Lumley should have done better no doubt, but what the hell were we thinking playing a difficult bouncing ball back to the goalkeeper anyway?
The current style of playing out from the back and Warburton's preference for a goalkeeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet means that there is always going to be the possibility of a mistake.
It's very much the order of the day to use the goalkeeper as the first line of attack and defenders playing the ball back is now becoming the norm.
Saturday's mess up is now in the past and hopefully both Lumley and Rangel have put it down to experience. Overall we were the better team and we are a lot better off than at the same stage last season.
The way we are playing is full of positives and despite being a bit pessimistic after Saturdays game I'm looking forward to Wednesday when we have chance to get the show back on the road. If we take some of the chances we have been making then somebody is going to be on the end of a thrashing. COYRs

Although still in the very early stages of the season we have slipped into the bottom half for the first time in 13th. We are level on point with 9th placed Forest but out goal difference took a hit with the 2-0 defeat against Bristol City.
However, we are just 3 points from both the top and bottom of the table such is the competitiveness of the league already this season.
Only 3 games in nobody has a 100% record and all teams have picked up at least 1 point.
