Eze was outstanding in that first half and Luton couldn't get near him. He scored, he got an assist he hit the bar twice and is our best player by far.
Wells scored 2 and like Eze was full of confidence and every time the two of them ran at Luton their defence was terrified. The pass from Leistner for Wells first was also brilliant.
Whilst Leistner adds to our central defence I think that Barbet continues to frighten me. I think at lot of the issues on that left hand side are due to Manning getting caught out of position or not reacting quick enough and that leaves Barbet trying to pick up two men.
Unfortunately, Lumley is just not comfortable when having to pass or kick the ball. His attempted pass to Manning was as poor as it gets. We could have been 5 -0 up at half time but it was just 3 - 1 and even that should have been comfortable.
To make things worse just after the restart a chipped ball into our box was nodded back for a Luton player to tap in. Manning completely lost his man and just stood still. Going forward Manning is good but his defending can be so naive.
As bad as Lumley's kicking can be you would think that your striker could at least hit the target but not if his name is Hugill. Eze did all the hard work and laid the ball on a plate to Hugill who did an impersonation of Johnny Wilkinson and blazed the ball high.
Overall there were lots of pluses but we have to do something about our left sided defenders.
