Millwall v QPR 1 - 2 FT

A good win today and we can still get better.

Defensively we are still to keep a clean sheet and at times we are just sloppy. Barbet is always going to be a mistake waiting to happen.We knew that Millwall would be dangerous from set pieces and that was exactly what caused a lot of our problems. Leistner is our best central defender by far. Eze played well but was also sloppy and gave the ball away to allow the Millwall player a clear chance at goal that luckily he put wide. They had 5 attempts on target today and when big Matty Smith is your main striker you know that being clinical isn't something he is good at. Thankfully. Against  better strikers it might have been a different story.

Hugill still cant hit a barn door with a banjo so thank goodness for the Millwall goalie and the fact  that Nahki Wells is in the form of his life. We only had 3 shots on target today and scored with two of them.

So against WBA next week the target is a clean sheet and Hugill to score for us. Simple really!

The last 2 times QPR won 4 league games in a row (2010/11 and 2013/14) the season ended in promotion

Only 1 point off the top too.

Leeds dominated their game today against Derby with over 70% possession and Derby had one shot and still drew 1-1

We won’t go up automatic but we could nick a play off spot if we carry on like we have been

All our last 4 wins have happened since we moved to the 5-3-2 formation and Millwall paid us a huge compliment today by changing their system to try and match us by also playing 5-3-2.

Whilst the likes of Eze, Wells, Chair and Manning have rightly been getting lots of plaudits I think that Leistner has been our defensive keystone. Last season he was our best central defender and our captain yet at the start of this season not only did he lose the captaincy but he also lost his place in the starting line up and it looked as though he was about to be shipped out the door. You could have understood if he was a bit peeved but when he came on against Wigan he helped to shore things up and has been our best central defender in every game since.

He must now be one of the first names on Warburton's team sheet.
