We are clearly a good team with a lot of potential and let's not forget we completely overhauled the squad and have a new manager so we are far from the finished article.
Of course the defence remains an ongoing concern (we'd be promotion material had we signed McKenna) but it was vital to go into the next 2 week break with confidence and shake off the back to back defeats. To get our first win against Blackburn in 20 years is another monkey off our backs too!
No way Blackburn were best team - in any half! We had more attempts and more pressure, which ultimately gave rewards. Finally beaten them! Good game too with all playing well, and subs worked too. No idea who should get MotM - too many candidates...
Important result and something to build on Millwall and stoke results just show how wide open this league is A good win but no clean sheet again Blackburn are a bogey team so any result is fantastic Saturday night better when we win,I’m off to the pub now
Crazy league this year Only 4 points separates top 10 This season its anyone’s even stoke could creep up in the mix The championship is so unpredictable
Odd stat that we only had 44% possession today (the first time this season we've had less than 50% I think) and we score 4. On Wednesday we had 72% possession but couldn't score and lost 3-0! It truly is a funny old game!
It was important today that we won Doesn’t matter if it was 9-8 we had to win on the back of 2 losses, and we can now try to put barbet on a plane with Thomas Cook and hope we don’t see him again for a while How did Kelly do in goal today as lumley seems not to be on warburtons Xmas card list at the moment Eze I heard was fantastic at times and will be great in the premier league in January, take no less than 10 million QPR board Sod stats it’s about 3 points at the end of the day

I was watching the HT stats and saw that we were 50/50 at that point northwesthoop, which felt about right. Blackburn had obviously done their homework and adopted a high press on our CBs and Kelly (Dack especially) but generally held back until we crossed the half way line. This makes sense to some degree in that we are no threat that far out from their goal. They also played, to my surprise, out from the back too. So the 50/50 seemed right. However, I am surprised that we dropped as low as 44% overall, because it never felt watching the game that we were being overwhelmed or even under long periods of threat. We seemed to control the game - despite the lower level of possession!
Onto the comments from @singlespeed:

I do feel it does matter that we have to win whilst shedding clean sheets at the other end, but I hope you enjoyed the trip to the pub anyway! Somehow, sitting in the stand yesterday I was never worried, but I was equally sure that QPR was not going to be clinical or ruthless. The lack of a clean sheet was partly caused by the team continuing to push for more goals, and it should be noted that all the subs who came on were geared to that objective. Warburton seems prepared to expose the defence if it means we score goals! The only real concern is that the goal difference may come back to haunt is, as it is way behind others!! Onto Barbet: He was actually good against Blackburn, making necessary tackles and making good passes. I have to say that those around me were initially convinced it was Cameron who had fouled Dack (whom Chair was assigned to mark it seems), but the foul was one of many decisions that seemed odd at the time. Onto Kelly: He did well passing the ball out and receiving it whilst under the high pressing game (Dack was a real pain for him) and he did go the right way for the penalty. No complaints about his efforts. Eze was indeed good once again. Opposing teams tend to relax when he plays the ball quickly away from him or moves slowly with it, only to find he has got the ball back and/or has suddenly accelerated away past team members! Eze will be snapped up by someone like Bournmouth and make us richer! A great game to watch!!
One final comment: The atmosphere at the ground was weird as there was almost a pregnant hush for the first 10 minutes, when the fans started to clap good passing once again, and then the clapping turned into song and more noise towards the end of that first half. It was almost as if the fans there still could not believe that this was their QPR playing like this!
