I went to my first game for some time yesterday. Afraid I am not that good at match reports as I tend to get a little carried away with the game.
There was not much atmosphere as you can imagine with less than 5000 fans at the game. What little atmosphere there was was generated by the ref for letting some tough challenges by Northampton go unpunished.
Northampton started the better for the first 10 minutes chasing everything down and challenging hard. they were very direct getting the ball forward very quickly but surprisingly for me they tried to play it on the deck most times and not just punt it forward for there big center forward.
The rest of the first half was fairly even but there was an obvious difference in talent between the teams.
N'Gbakoto bundled in the goal from a good header from Furlong.
Second half was pretty much controlled buy us especially after the sending off but Northampton did have 2 very good chances when Manning cleared off the line and what should have been a penalty. The ref could have missed it from were he was but the linesman should have flagged a clear push in the back by Robinson.
Freeman was by far our best player But Furlong and Manning also had good games.
I also though that Caulker had a good game. Apart from one lunging tackle for which he got booked He seemed to have loads of time to make passes or interceptions were as Onuoha seemed to be more rushed

I think that it is very hard to write stuff down to make into a coherent match report and still enjoy the game is difficult; so getting 'a little carried away' kensair is perfectly understandable if you are a QPR fan! Your report is much appreciated by those of us unable to be there!!
