1 - 0 Reading, it was a good shot and a brilliant goal but when you leave a man free on the edge of the box at a corner and let him have an uncontested shot it's what you get.
Am I right in thinking it was Kane clearing badly from the LEFT that led to the excellent strike being possible?
We were throwing everything at them towards the end but to no avail. The substitutions of Smith for Cameron & Wells for BOS did nothing either way; whereas Pugh's replacement by Chair produced a lot of extra effort (fresh legs) and some very good forward play. Should we have won though? No, but equally we should have not lost - a draw was a fair result!

You are right kingfisher, it was typical QPR defending from a set piece, the corner skims off Hall's head and goes to Kane on the left who directs a poor header to Readings Swift on the edge of the box and he hits a great shot into the top of Lumleys net. I suspect that Eze might also get some of the blame for leaving Swift unmarked.
Up until the goal went in the game was poor although Charlie Adam was spraying some good balls around for Reading. Once Reading went ahead they let us have a lot more of the ball and we had some good chances but the woodwork and the Reading goalies face kept us from scoring.
Reading were a poor team who exploited our poor defending from set pieces and tried to catch us on the break. BOS did well but we rely so heavily on Eze to produce a bit of magic that it's become too predictable. Eze takes the free kicks, takes the corners and the opposition know exactly what he is going to do. Surely Warburton can work on getting the team to mix things up and be a bit more imaginative with our set pieces.

I agree about Eze we do rely on him creating that bit of magic. In a strange way, if Eze does go it might actually give us a lift as others will hopefully step up.

I would add that Eze's dead ball kicks were poor tonight. I really do feel that using Manning at times would benefit the side (and mean Eze could hover with intent on the edge of the goal area).
The first half was pretty dire, there wouldn't have been many neutral viewers for this match after the first half!
I thought it was a penalty in the first half when Eze was blocked by Moore then how we didn't score in the 2nd half was just 'one of those days' but still very disappointing. We lost to a screamer but it is now 1 point from 3 games against Barnsley, Charlton and Reading which is below par.
The top 6 has disappeared from view, now 7 points away and the bottom 3 are 11 away, so with literally the whole second half of the season to come we have effectively 22 dead rubbers ahead which is just flipping boring.
After the game Warburton said that their were heated words and that "We created numerous chances and we’ve got to score. That’s really typical of the last few weeks.”
I can understand the heated words because in the 2nd half we were much the better team and with a bit of luck the equaliser might have come our way. It's good that the players were disappointed to get nothing from the game and hopefully they respond against Hull.
The fact that neither Hugill or Wells scored is a bit more worrying as they have now gone 7 games and 8 games respectively without hitting the back of the net. However, because of their early season form they both remain ahead of their career average goals per game. They other thing I would say about last nights game was that Hugill did play well but he didn't seem to have much support from the players around him especially Pugh.
I thought that Lumley did very well and made a couple of very decent saves which was good to see. Leistner looked solid enough but Hall does seem suspect in the air and was easily beaten to a couple of crosses.
Still wondering how on earth we didn’t get something out of that game. We didn’t play well but even so we couldn’t have come closer to scoring at least 3 times. I largely agree with stoatey. Hugill’s all round play was good and he certainly put in a shift but how did he fail to score? He had pretty much the whole goal to aim at and he hits the keeper’s head. I also agree that Lumley and Leistner had really good games. But where was the midfield? Cameron, Amos, Smith and Pugh were not in the game at all. Our latest run of results (1 point from 3 games against very poor teams) has got me worried that we have a MacLaren style 2nd half of the season to come.
My analysis of the season is we are mcclaren team all over again Just not as expensive,we peaked for a month with mcclaren and the same with warburton We’ve now fizzled out and with a slight look over our shoulder at the bottom 6,so really to sum up the season our only achievement will be not to get relegated again It’s dull but this is how it’s going to be for the near future and it’s a shame as we could of finished in a good position due to it being the poorest league I’ve ever known it to be,and I mean poor Some of our attacking play is superb to watch but overall our midfield and defending is league 2 at best at times
