1-2 78 mins Just to show we are QPR, so anything can (and does) happen, a 10-man QPR finds itself a goal up after BOS' delivery to Manning on the left of the goal is slammed into the RHD side of the goal
1-3 84 mins No sooner finished updating the post when....Goal! Preston North End 1, Queens Park Rangers 3. Eberechi Eze's right footed shot from the left side of the box to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Bright Samuel again. [We are now 12th in the league on 50 points!]
Great victory! One thing to hang on with 10 men and scrape a win or a draw, but to score two more goals and win is the mark of a good side. Amongst the other games we had:
Swansea hold WBA to a goalless draw Stoke pummel Hull 5-1 Brentford thrash Sheff Weds 5-0
Wells must be gutted his goal wasn't enough against Fulham...they could have been in 6th
Draw seems a fair result though for both parties, and Bristol City are just outside the Playoff places (with one point only separating them from Preston) so it still could happen.
btw NW, if we'd won against Birmingham....we'd be in exactly the same position in the league! :-)
7 of our last 9 games are VERY winnable...if we did win them all (we won't) would that be enough to break into the top 6?
Same position but we'd have been just 4 points from the play offs rather than 6. That makes a huge difference when we are in form and other teams aren't.
27 points to play for, we would probably need 18-20 to make the play offs.
Over the season we've just left ourselves just a bit short.
On a side note how bloody important is Barbet! We'd have definitely been top 6 had he not got injured and missed 18 games
I literally cannot believe it. All the years I've been to Preston and never won. Today I skip it and we win.
If only we had held on against Birmingham last week we would be genuine play off contenders.
That is the Championship and that is QPR for you!
There was me regularly reminding you that you need to pick 11 men in your pre match team prediction when all along you knew what you were doing by just picking 10 men. It's clear that we play loads better with just 10 men and that you should be our manager.
Personally think it’s all down to me Since I’ve been to the stoke game we’ve been unbeaten 😆 It was a great result with 10 men at a tough ground we never win at We are just getting the rub of the green at the moment, they hit the woodwork a few times but we punished them in the end Our players just seem to look relaxed now,and as a others said we can play with no fear We are one of the highest scorers in the league and we lost wells but we still are scoring goals and that’s encouraging Just a shame start of next season it’s all going to get disrupted with player exits
Now. THAT was fun! A great day out and an amazing result that nobody saw coming.
We were slow to get going in the first half, but that double substitution at HT won us that match. So often I’ve criticised Warburton for getting his subs wrong or leaving them too late, but yesterday he got them spot on. Superb management.
Eze and Bright will naturally take the plaudits again, but for me, Amos changed the game when he came on - he sat in midfield well and helped break up so much of their play & helped us push forward as well. MOTM for me
The win against Preston moves us into the top half sitting 12th, although we will drop to 13th if Derby beat Blackburn in the remaining match of the weekend
We have gone 6 league games unbeaten for the first time since a similar run of 6 between December 2013 and February 2014
We sit 2nd in the league form table over those 6 games with 12 points from 18 taken. Only Leeds are ahead of us.
We have closed to within 6 points of the top 6 by beating 6th placed Preston
In our remaining 9 fixtures we play 6 teams in the bottom half (24th, 22nd, 19th, 20th, 15th, 23rd) along with Fulham, Millwall and West Brom
In getting to 50 points we are just 1 point behind last seasons total of 51 and we still have those 9 games remaining.
Our target should be to beat 60 points which is our best total at this level since we got relegated 5 years ago.
It was our first win at Deepdale in just over 40 years. We last won there in February 1980.
We have still not lost since Yoann Barbet came back into the side and we have now only lost in 1 of his last 14 league appearances.
Over the season we have now lost just 16.7% of the games Barbet has played. We also now average 1.94 points per game with Barbet in the side.
To put that into perspective top team Leeds have lost 21% of their games this season and are averaging 1.92 points per game.

Amos showed just what a good player he can be and it's now about him producing that form on a regular basis. He did well at the start of the season and then seemed to just lose his way. Losing his place and having a rest seems to have done him the world of good and it will be interesting to see if he gets a starting role next Saturday.
Amos is almost guaranteed to start stoatey as Cameron will be suspended. A bit opportunity for him to prove himself again.
Warburton has done well managing the players. BOS, Manning, Chair and Amos have all had spells out of the team and come back refreshed, eager to prove themselves and the team is all the better for it.
