Obviously now that the football league have suspended matches until at least the 3rd April the question you have all been asking is what is going to happen to the prediction comps on Hoops & Dreams!
As I'm sure we all anticipate there is no way football will return before May.
QPR Prediction League:
As long as the 2019/20 season is resumed and all 9 remaining fixtures are to be played the QPR Prediction League will finish Phase 3 as normal in line with the remaining fixtures when they are eventually played.
If this current season is cancelled then the next 9 QPR matches to take place, even if they are in the 'next' season, will be used to decide the 2019/20 placings.
If this were to happen the 2020/21 QPR Prediction League would be just 37 games long instead of 46 and would just be 2 phases of 18 and 19 games rather than the current format of 3 Phases.
The FA Cup Knockout Competition is at the final 4 stage. If the FA Cup resumes, our semi finals will continue as planned based on the FA Cup Quarter Finals. If the FA Cup is cancelled the remaining 4 players will have 2.5 points each added to their Phase 3 totals in the 2019/20 QPR Prediction League (a quarter of the prize of 10 points)
The Lone Ranger and Win, Lose & Draw
The Lone Ranger was due to have another 7 rounds (27 to 33) and by my maths Win, Lose & Draw, brilliantly run by Ghost , was to have the same 7 match rounds to go (weeks 28 to 34)
These 7 outstanding rounds for both competitions will now be the next 7 match rounds that take place, whenever that may be, Saturday or midweek.
This will therefore involve us using midweek rounds which is not usually the norm for these competitions, but is the only way to conclude the competitions for this season, because when football does return it will be matches Saturday-Tuesday every week over 4 weeks to get the 9 remaining matches finished. The 7 rounds we need will hopefully come from those 9 rounds of fixtures.
So when we return the predictions will be coming thick and fast!
Dream R's
This will simply encompass any remaining fixtures once 2019/20 is resumed.
If the 2019/20 season is not resumed and the EFL cancels it to move on to 2020/21 then Dream R's for 2019/20 will finish with the current scores and a new season will start afresh in line with the new season.
Overall, please keep checking in, share your views on what you can, let us know you are ok and touch wood we'll all be raring to go when the football does resume.
Best of health to you and your families. Stay safe.
