I am home alone, just me and the wife with no children or grandchildren to keep me occupied as they are social distancing.
So with plenty of time on my hands I got to wondering why I support QPR in the first place
I can never remember not supporting Rangers, but also can not remember thinking that this is the team I will support. It kind of just happened.
Although my parents never supported a team most of my extended family were crazy Rangers supports and were always talking about going to and watching the matches.
I grew up in the North Kensington area so my local team was QPR as well. but moved to NW10 when I was six. NW10 at that time was a more mixed area in terms of which teams that the kids supported. Most were Chelsea and Spurs supporters so supporting little QPR was not easy. And when playground football was played between the 2 sets of supports I just used to walk away as I would not compromise even for playground football.
Then in the early seventies I started to get my own back for all the mickey taking. and at that time It felt great being a QPR supporter and it looked like there were Rangers supporters everywhere.
The good times lasted for about 20 years on or off but then the steady decline started.
For me It has not been to bad as I have seen the good times and the not so good times but for me there has never been a bad time to support QPR.
So chin up to young supporters like the young surrychads and the young e17s our time WILL come again
