West Brom deserved to go up they were quality and in the top two most of the season I think Fulham or Cardiff will win the play offs it’s normally the gritty get stuck in teams like Wycombe that win the play offs we showed last night how classy we can be attacking wise and against Millwall, but we are useless defending still 58 points and 13th not bad on the budget we had
And also much better than we expected at the start of the season.
Few observations on the game (having now watched the full 90):
Amos was really good and seems to have improved with every game during the restart
I feel the only criticism to be directed at the defence for the first goal was they were 'ball-watching' not monitoring possible threats. The real problem was how the ball was lost.
The second goal was a different question and reflected the problem we have seen with all the CBs all season - each assumes the other is picking up the player dividing them! This is 'Defence I' class stuff and Warburton needs to give the defenders and their coach a really good kicking...
The difference between Kakay and Manning or Kane when it comes to closing down an attacker to prevent a cross is huge. I really hope that Manning moves to become the left DM. He will cause havoc as he moves forward and can still assist the LB.
Eze's goal was the magic we would have dreamt of for his final appearance, which it surely is. Going to miss him!
Credit to Lumley where it is due - not only some fine saves but he was not flustered under pressure!
Nearly forgot - neither Furlong or Austin were that good in their respective roles and Phillips did not even feature. Not sure they are missed as much as I thought...

Austin has apparently been unfit (for whatever reason) most of the season and tired after 60 minutes, which may explain why he was a sub most of the time. He was still their top scorer though. I'd love him back. Get him fit, give him the love he needs and he still has that knack of scoring goals.
Phillips stock has fallen as the season has gone on by all accounts. He could well be sold on now they have gone up.
Furlong has fallen down the pecking order too and I have to say if a neutral was offered Furlong or Kakay from that match they'd be choosing Kakay!

This shows exactly how far we have fallen. WBA have 3 ex-Rangers that we didn't want to lose but we couldn't afford to keep. Yet they can afford to have them as squad players.
