Bit of a dream team for Fleetwood as both Clint and Joey have lots of passion and are both winners. An added addition is that they both can still play.
I think they will do very well and as stoatey said they can both still play (and play well at that level).
I look forward to seeing how they do.
Clever of Barton to pick someone he knows well who has both the wealth of playing experience and the necessary coaching badges as his understudy. When the time is right I can see either Clint or Shaun Derry being good candidates for a job at Loftus Road. Not so sure about Barton though as he needs to prove he can restrain his temper when dealing with diffuclt players/fans/board members.
Fully understand why he was reluctant to stop playing, but also why he has decided now is the time to end his playing career. I would still love to have him back as defensive coach and I think it would be a smart move by McClaren to bring such a legend onto his coaching staff.
Would be great if we could get him back. Every time I hear him speak or watch him play I am impressed. He would seem to have lots to offer in terms of experience and motivation. Given he was never the quickest player, I think he developed good technical awareness and positional sense to compensate. Could really bring some of our guys along.
True, and it will not do Clint hill any harm either - all good experience!
Are we looking at the development of the next management of QPR?
My thoughts exactly - with Shaun Derry & Clint Hill though probably! (However, what the QPR board thinks is anyone's guess!!) I guess it all depends upon how Joey Barton performs there and Derry at wherever he ends up.
