I find it odd that Warburton was talking about needing more cover and we've ended up with basically Sanderson instead of de Wijs. It must just come down to Warburton needing somebody who will always be available when we need them - Sanderson can offer that whereas too many times de Wijs hasn't been available and with such an important run in now we can't afford that.
I still believe de Wijs is an excellent defender, he just needs to be less brittle!
Sanderson came on at left back yesterday and then let Barbet go out at wing back if we get an inury at centre back to one of the 4 we will need another centre half in
makes no sense at all the timing if this one
if hes not doing well with us let him go at end of season not now baffling
i think we should recall Masterson he looked so good before he left to play for cambridge now i bet his confidence is rock bottom i really did think he was a good player for us
Seems less likely now we're selling Dickie or Dunne?
I think Jake Clarke-Salter coming in meant we would be thought to have too many CBs (Dickie, Dunne, De Wijs, Clarke-Salter & Masterson), although given our tendency to suffer major injuries to certain groups of players at the same time (goalies last season and CBs the season before), it has to be hoped we do not miss him. I am pleased he has been taken on by Fortuna and wish him well.

It's no surprise. I liked him, he was a very solid defender, but he just couldn't be relied upon. That will be the only reason he's gone.
If we want to succeed we can't have a defender who we never know if they will go off injured or be missing for the next game at short notice over and over.
Jordy de Wijs only made more than 3 consecutive league appearances for QPR once.
Consecutive league appearances:
2020/21: 2-2-2-3
2021/22: 9-2-1
21 appearances in 12 months. That's why he's gone.

Always thought he did well for us but his injury issues meant that he would struggle to play a long season of arduous Championship matches. If he can keep fit then Jordy will do a good job for Fortuna. Good luck to him.
