Final 10 games over the years

This is superb analysis. I love stuff like this.

We went 9 seasons in a row without failing to win on the final day!!

Last season the final 3 unbeaten games rather saved what was a terrible run.

I guess some past seasons were 'ok' but no wonder we all felt our run ins were bad; since relegation we've not got more than 13 points in the final 10 games.

That comment made me laugh ranger-boy for two reasons - surely only Rs supporters think like this, and (following the logic of stats and the 'law of averages') we become more and more likely to buck that trend and do well at the end of the season for once! COYRS!!

to me these stats don't seem to bad just very average

in the 18 years that you have listed we have massed 221 points at an average of 12.27 point per year

on average teams can expect to get between 12-14 points every 10 games

Therefore we fall into that span.

Just goes to show you can prove anything with stats

I'm with ranger-boy on this, we should be trying to create momentum and build confidence going into the next season. But because we end up with 10 dead rubbers most years we just get up and down performances; just like the 2 this Easter

That 2005/6 season was one of the club's worst not only on the pitch but even more for the off pitch issues.

Off the pitch Kiyan Prince was murdered and in a different incident Gianni Paladini was held at gunpoint in his office.

On the pitch we were in a safe mid table position when the board decided to sack Ian Holloway and appoint Gary Waddock who in the last 14 games of the season won just 2 games, drew 5 and lost 7. We ended up 3rd from bottom.

Waddock would start as manager for 2006/7 but lasted for just 8 more leagues games (W1, D3 ,L4).  

We’ve got 4 points inside the final 10 this season already, so we can’t do worse than 05-06 at least!
