Goal of the season: Dickie Vs Middlesbrough 46% beating Dom Ball Vs Cardiff 36%. (I personally thought Ball's was better on his weaker foot and as a last minute winner!)
You try telling a centre back that his 30+ yard screamer wasn't the best goal of the season
Balls goal was an absolute belter, but it had to be Dickie for me. A centre back is not supposed to do that
and for me Lyndon even being brought into contention is a miracle and even funnier is that Lee Wallace nearly outmuscled him to the bronze medal 2 months ago i would have probably said
1st Rob Dickie 2nd Senny DIeng (or as i sometimes call him Sunny Delight) 3rd Ilias Chair
it seems i was correct with my predictions for the top 2
was never gonna be Illias this season with the way Dicke and Dieng have played all season
now if people can now appreciate just how good a player Rob Dickie is now
and his end of season form was just that looked like he could bang in 20-30 goals next season if he stays with us i hear hes already making other teams look at him one being Celtic and the other being rangers of course.
I would have thought that it would take £10m+ to buy Dykes now, especially if he does well at the Euros. Presumably he is on a fairly long contract.
If we get a mega offer then I'm sure we'll accept it. If we get a good-but-not-mega offer it will be a test of whether we really want to try for promotion next season or whether we are prepared to re-build yet again.
I went with Dykes - I know he had a 'patch' of no goals. But I think some of his late late goals had a real impact upon our season.
@ashqpri think Dykes is a lot like Chair, Carroll, Ball, Field and Amos in that what he does off the ball is often missed and under-appreciated. Even when he had his long, barren spell with no goals he was still putting in a full shift. I even remember him making a goal-line clearance as the last defender at one point! Now he is scoring again he is the complete package and, as others have stated, his international games will certainly showcase him to other managers. In fact every goal he scores will add money onto the inevitable transfer price....
