After a whole week of training only (what a luxury that must seem to the squad) they face Stoke away, and they drew away at Forest on Saturday. The stats are as follows:
Stoke LLDLD 13th 57pts -2GD
QPR WLWWL 10th 62pts -2GD
This may seem like a fixture of little interest at this end of the season. Neither side can achieve much by winning (or losing), but both sides could move up two places if they win to finish better this season. Looking at the last 5 games Stoke must wonder what a win looks like, and the Rs what a draw looks like too. Stoke were a side doing well at one stage, but somewhere in the season we passed them going the other way....
I would expect fringe players on the bench and for them to get a game if all goes well before the 60th minute, but here is the side I would like to see playing:
Lumley
Dickie De Wijs Barbet
Adomah Johansen Field Wallace
Chair Dykes Willock
I suspect that will be the same for most, but do tell...
WLS reports that De Wijs was pulled on Saturday because of a 'tight hamstring' which could be nothing or could mean he has to be rested. Does that mean that Cameron will be wheeled out, or Bobby Ball called into service once more as central CB? Will Warburton decide that Dieng is still preferable - even in a 'Phantom of the Opera' mask to Joe? Could George Thomas (who only played the first half on Saturday) get the nod up front instead of Chair or Willock (unlikely but Stoke used to be a more physical side and that works for Thomas. Finally, Dykes instead of Austin or Bonne? seems a no-brainer to me, but perhaps you feel Bonne should be given a chance/run out or Austin wear them out in the first 60 mins?
