Today marks 4 years since we moved over from QPRnet so it’s time for the sites annual stats update
Our 4th year on Hoops & Dreams was certainly a strange one with a season played almost entirely behind closed doors and matches played what felt like every 3 days once football resumed last July.
We’ve actually concluded 2 seasons since this time last year; when I posted the last birthday update we weren’t sure what would happen with the rest of 2019/20 never mind 2020/21, Ebere Eze was still very much a QPR player and we could only dream of seeing Charlie Austin in a QPR shirt again!
SITE STATS:
We have had the highest ever number of posts in the last 12 months, passing 10,000 for the first time with 10,302; a 54% increase on last year. There were 610 threads created and we welcomed 29 new members. We had 454,636 page views, taking us to over 1.7 million views in the 4 years.
The Top 5 posters this year were:
1) kingfisher = 1964
2) stoatey = 1868
3) jimjams = 524
4) @tomcat75 = 425
5) Ghost = 339
The No. 1 spot has changed hands every year but kingfisher is the first person to take it twice, with stoatey and singlespeed both having been No. 1 since kingfisher was last at the top in our first year between 2017 and 2018. jimjams and tomcat75 are both new entries in the top 5 which is great to see!
I don't count myself as I have to create a lot of threads for prediction competitions, results, stats etc, but for those interested I had 2183 posts overall.
In 2020/21 we crowned CutePR the QPR Prediction League champion, Jalfrezi Rs won Win, Lose & Draw and SydneyR took The Lone Ranger title on the final day.
kensalr won the 4th instalment of Dream R’s, which as I announced previously will be taking a year off for 2021/22.
HOOPS & DREAMS PODCAST
We have exciting news ahead of 2021/22, as I can announce that kingfisher will be hosting a monthly Hoops & Dreams podcast across next season. The podcast will be published on our new Hoops & Dreams Youtube Channel (which there is a link to in the top left hand corner of the forum, just click the youtube logo and you can subscribe). It will review the previous month’s QPR action and look ahead to the coming month. The first podcast will be out before the new season to review the pre-season action and to look forward to the season ahead. The idea is that different forum members will have the chance to get involved across the season.
Our Euro 2020 knockout cup competition is also ready to open right now - the deadline is before the first game on 11 June
If you are reading this and you aren’t registered to the site then please become a site member for FREE by clicking HERE and get involved. The main benefit of registering is you then stay logged in forever so it is hassle free whenever you visit the site. Plus you will then get blue QPR icons for new content and white icons when you have viewed the page, aiding navigation and making it easier to see when new content or posts are available to view. It would mean a lot if you were to join us. As a smaller community you literally become part of the family and become a well known name onsite! We make no money from the site; we’d just love you to be a part of it!
Thank you to all of you who continue to make Hoops & Dreams a great place to visit for QPR chat, news and games. Who knows, when we turn 5 QPR could be a Premier League club again! Share the journey with us!
Come on You R’s!
