Here is the comment from WLS:
I am guessing it comes round to what he would cost to replace Barbet....
Last season Fotuna Sittard tended to play a 4-2-3-1 system which Cox has said suits the way he likes to play.
What are we deciphering from these stats??
I think there will be some tactical flexibility, with maybe two or three different systems used. If you look at his time with Liverpool’s 23s it was a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 depending on the makeup of the midfield. Whereas Rangers moved between a diamond midfield and a 3-5-2
The type of business we do will be the earliest indicator. I got bashed a bit on Twitter for suggesting that if he moves for a Number 8 like Cameron Brannagan, that it probably spells the end for the Number 10s (Willock and Chair). But I’m sticking with that belief.
On Cox, the worries in a four is he leaves his left-sided centre back (Dunne) too exposed when he ventures forward. As I’ve spoken about elsewhere, Dunne isn’t the quickest, so there would need to either be a disciplining or a midfielder that fills holes in the way Henderson does for Liverpool.
Equally I worry about his height dealing with crosses at the back post, a position he’d find himself in more frequently if defending as part of a four.
It is still a deal I’d do though, at £500k it’s a no-brainer.
