Like you kingfisher I have also watched the full game and it seemed to be similer issues as previous games where we switch off and go into a very complacent phase. For whatever reason some of our players seem to go to sleep and leave their man to somebody else.. In previous games we have managed to get away with some lapses but Reading took their chances.

For the first Reading goal Odubajo seemed to switch off and that allowed Swift run past him and slot home. Their 2nd goal was just as awful with Swift being left unmarked in the box and turning to hit one into the corner. I didnt think it could get any worse but the Reading 3rd goal was awful. I have no idea where Ball went but he left Odubajo to mark 2 men . As you would expect a simple pass between the 2 Reading men left Odubajo on his backside as the ball was passed across to Swift to get his 3rd.

Whilst the wing backs came in for a bit of flak on social media I don't think they were helped by the midfield who need to give them some better support.

Good point about the flak the wing-backs have received stoatey, and I know @tomcat75 has mentioned how difficult the position is to play. I was delighted by Odubajo's play pre-season, but since then I have found myself wondering why he seems to go for the most technically different option (rather than keeping it simple) and why Kakay has not learnt from his past season. Whilst defending the wing backs need to close down the opponents players on the wing and prevent crosses; and whilst attacking they need to provide width to the play and crosses into the box. I can tolerate a wing back who stays back too far and defends well, or even a wing back who pushes up to get crosses in; but where wing backs fail to do either then I have to question their inclusion.

Onto Dom Ball, when Field was injured we knew it was going to be hard for Ball to step into his boots; but, in all fairness, he has done better than most expected. What he lacks in pace that allows him to make a tackle and still defend if he is beaten. The Back 3 is relying upon him and Johansen to assist when not in possession.

There has been talk about moving from a Back 3 to a Back 4, and the latter may solidify the defence better. What it will not do though is provide better service to the strikers - it will result in less service. Mark Warburton needs to look at how we can play and what benefits the team against each opposition. Tricky stuff!

Following the game with Bournemouth where Kakay replaced Obadajo but wasn't any better and got caught out of position on several occasions I'm wondering if Warburton might give Albert a try.

Adomah would certainly give us a better attacking option and how much worse than Kakay or Odobajo can he be at defending.

No, I think you have to play Adomah as an out and out winger...play 442 which I think suits Kaykay better anyway
