16 years ago on 21 November 2001 the R's favourite son Kevin Gallen made his second QPR debut and was an instant hero again, playing a pivotal role as the R's smashed Swindon 4-0.
Gallen scored one and had a hand in two other goals. Doudou, Oliver Burgess and Andy Thomson scored the other 3 goals on a memorable night.
You can see the highlights including all the goals here: (ignore the date on the video - it definitely was 21 November 2001!)

5 years ago today on 23 November 2012 Mark Hughes was sacked as QPR manager after 10 tumultuous months in charge. We had no wins and had picked up just 4 points from the opening 12 games of the season when he was finally relieved of his duties.
Hard to believe it is half a decade ago!
As we have been discussing elsewhere recently it feels like we are going to be feeling the knock on effects from the reign of Hughes for a long, long time.
It still amazes me that Hughes was able to get another Premier League job after his poor record at QPR and it is just as frustrating that he has been able to be successful at Stoke.
In a QPR Podcast from earlier this season Clint Hill discussed how he was playing in a testimonial at Stoke this summer but Mark Hughes refused to have him in his team and would not speak to or even acknowledge Clint. That just about sums Mark Hughes up. He will never take any of the blame for his shambles of a reign at QPR that ended 5 years ago today.

For me Mark Hughes neither developed our budding talent, brought/bought in enough quality players, or managed the team well; so I am equally baffled as to how he has survived in the PL. The fact that he refused to have Clint Hill in his team or shake his hand raises Clint's standing with me!

On This Day 41 years ago on 24 November 1976 QPR were in action in European Football and defeated Koln 3-0 at Loftus Road
Givens, Webb and Bowles bagged the goals in front over over 21,000 fans at Loftus Road. We would go through to the Quarter Finals on the away goal rule.
Another magical night for QPR fans that no doubt lives long in the memory for fans lucky enough to be there 41 years ago today!

7 years ago today on 27 November 2010 we beat title rivals Cardiff 2-1 at Loftus Road in a battle of the top 2.
Cardiff took the lead on 13 minutes as a Gorkss slip let in Bellamy, but 5 minutes late he made amends heading in from a Smith cross.
The winner came in the second half courtesy of a superb solo effort from Taarabt.
The win took us 5 points clear at the top and we remained unbeaten - the only team still unbeaten in English football at that stage of the 10/11 season.

2 years ago today on 28 November 2015 QPR beat Leeds 1-0 at Loftus Road
Charlie Austin came off the bench to bag the 3 points with a header from a Alejandro Faurlin corner.
Oh to even be able to just go back 2 years and see those 2 wearing hoops again.......
Speaking of seeing people in a QPR shirt this match against Leeds was the last ever appearance for the R's for the under-rated (and under-used) Yun Suk Young.

On this day 42 years ago, on 29 November 1975 QPR beat Stoke 3-2 at Loftus Road in a cracking game.
The R's were 1-0 up at half time thanks to Don Masson but Stoke turned it around in the second half thanks to a cracking goal set up by an overhead kick then a Phil Parkes howler gifted Stoke a 2-1 lead.
However we turned it back around ourselves, Dave Clement equalised then David Webb struck a last minute winner to send the fans onto the pitch in ratures! Most of them wearing flares!
Parkes was always suspect on crosses but a great shot-stopper. What a team that was and a slightly unusual set of scorers that day - but Clement and Webb did get a few. If I remember right our home record that season was W17 D4 L0. Now that’s what you call making LR a fortress.
