Unfortunately the clubs first ever B team game against local rivals Brentford ended in a 3 - 1 defeat. The good news was that Amos got through the entire 90 minutes and is now in contention for a first team start against Everton in the cup.
We were 2-0 down at half time and despite looking bright at the start of the 2nd half we conceded another goal from the spot. Our goal was scored late on by the lad on trial Taylor-Crossdale who had also hit the bar.
only heard of Walsh and Amos of the others and gubbins
I believe that McKenna is one of those right footed wide men who can play on either flank. He has quite often played for the U23 team on the left which allows him to cut inside.
think those minutes are gonna be used up this week Northwest as we have a game Saturday, Tuesday and Friday coming up
i think the B team will give out minutes in the future but im Glad MW didnt use the likes of Dunne and Adomah as i think both will feature heavily in the next game im going too Everton in the mickey mouse cup
im hoping that game showed the likes of Duke McKenna and Gubbins and possibly Sinclair might be able to be used in the Everton game now also
Years ago when I was a lad there was something called the Combination League which was primarily for reserve teams and players needing match fitness after injury. The games were played weekly, were quite competitive and ideal for fringe players who spent a lot of time on the bench but could maintain their match fitness by playing in a competitive match.
I had hoped that when we created a B team that rather than play sporadic games (we have only played 4 friendly matches this season and the last game was 30/11 against Woking) we were going to have regular matches and play in a competitive league where players like Kelman and Bettache could play week in and week out and also play in a formation that mirrors the first team. We can then see whether they fit the Warburton system and also if needed they can slot right into the first team.
I dont see the point or benifit of having a so called B team if they are playing one friendly game a month. If we were playing regular B team games then players like Kelman and Bettache (rules permitting) could get some regular game time.

Showing your age there Stoatey. I used to go to some combination games when there wasn't a first team game on.

Yes I foolishly assumed we were creating a 'B' side to join a league!
