Running on the pitch and being able to pat a player on his back when I was a youngster was a thrill and was the closest I was ever going to get to my hero's.

Unfortunately, what has spoilt things for all the current youngsters is the behaviour of some fans who want to either fight each other or to attack a player. The excitement of the majority of fans on Tuesday was harmless over enthusiasm but it's important that we stick to the rules because the penalties that are imposed on clubs for their fans transgressing is expensive.

What I was surprised at on Tuesday was that some of the fans who got onto the pitch weren't that young but we're a bit excited. Whilst the club has to punish the fans who got onto the pitch, hopefully, they take into account the fact we were beating a Premiership team and progressing into the last 16 of a cup.
