After a very busy schedule at work very happy to come home and watch the red button (which seems to be a good omen for us at the minute with back to back 1-0 wins on it)
1 win and as if by magic we climb from 11th to 5th in a very very close league (apart from the top 3 who are becoming very distant including the freescoring Fulham who hit 7 in a 7-0 demolishing of Blackburn.......OUCH work will be painful in the morning with the Fulham fans i work with
wasnt suprised to see Willock out the team then saw he was not even on the bench which means he might have had a knock?? would have liked to have seen MW leave him out if he was fit for match as i think he needed a short sharp shock to improve his performances
Thought the back 3 were outstanding today led by MOM Rob Dickie, Midfield did ok was very impressed throughout by both Dozzell and Chair with Johansen not putting a foot wrong either. The Commentator was wrong about Dozzell saying he hadnt hardly noticed him then BAM a straight forward gem of a pass and in went Andre Gray whos finish equaled the great pass.
I thought both fullbacks worked their socks off which was mentioned by the commentator in 2nd half about Odubajo but i felt Adomah played equally as well (he even seems to act like a fullback these days my Uncle Albert delighted for him to have now put so many 90 minutes behind him)
Up front is my only concern im not the biggest fan of Dykes as most of you know yes sometimes he can put the ball away but what does he offer the team in general? thought Gray took his goal very well but apart from that also offered little. Then off the bench came Charlie (who at times looks like hes enjoyed the chocolate factory)
i hope Charlie plays in the next game at Blackpool and bangs one in because the 1st spell of his and his time at start of second spell knocking em in for fun when Jock McAussie and also part time waste of space Lyndon couldnt are now becoming a distant memory for me (will always love the man but i hope and pray he doesnt become a liability like the West Brom fan at my workplace describes him as)
scores on the doors
Dieng 6 (commanded area well wasnt asked to do much else)
Dickie 9 (thought it was just me noticing how great he was on the night until commentator Alan Parry mirrored my words by saying by far the best player on pitch tonight)
Dunne 7 (solid great back up for Dickie)
Barbet 7 (same as dunne)
Adomah 7 (looks like a fullback with a great cross on him)
Johansen 6 (did nothing wrong want to see him open up defences a bit more good leader tonight)
Dozzell 7 (great passing all night including telling pass that got Gray in suprised he was taken off)
Chair 7 (very good first half went quiet 2nd a recurring theme)
Odubajo 8 (up and down great defending i like seeing him play well as i think there are some on here treat him harsh)
Gray 6 (his goal gets him this mark did little else the time on pitch)
Dykes 5 (not his best game maybe im being harsh on him what i did notice on TV was his neck tattoo is so visable even from a distance which makes me like him even less than i did before)
rub a dubs
Amos 5 (no time)
Ball 5 (no time glad to see MW bring him on to sure up the defence and see out the clean sheet)
Austin 5 (closed down well just wanna see him bang in a few goals like he did against Everton cant see him being at club past this season which is very hard for me to admit to as i love the fella like a brother)
