I've been a big advocate of Dozzell but I hold my hands up yesterday he wasn't great at all. He gave it away twice early on and it seemed to impact his confidence.
Kakay just isn't good enough. He didn't do anything particularly wrong yesterday, but he just has zero attacking threat. If I was Stoke I would have been happy every time the ball went out to Kakay because you know he can't beat his man and can't cross with any conviction. Kakay is fine if you are in the lower echelons of the division maybe, but for a team chasing a top 6 finish he's just not up to standard anymore.
Johansen was poor yesterday. Man of the Match? He was chasing shadows and giving it away for almost the entire 90 minutes. We had to rewind at one point to highlight his 'tracking back'; he was just wandering back towards the 18 yard box when Stoke were piling into the box. As other have said above he's just become inconsistent this season. One match he's all action and snapping into tackles and dictating play. The next he looks like his legs have gone.
I also thought Thomas did as much as we could hope when he came on - he did more in 10 minutes than most did in 90. He's just become an easy target. He showed energy, hot himself into dangerous positions and, although he missed chances, at least he was a constant threat to Stoke.
Going to agree Dozzell had an off day northwesthoop! I also agree re Kakay, Johansen, and Thomas - in fact I could have wrote your post!
We weren't great defensively, but I honestly don't think we played that badly yesterday. It says it all that multiple Stoke fan pages gave Adam Davies a 10/10 rating yesterday.
It wasn't just the penalty. Willock had a header early on, Johansen had an effort superbly saved just after HT, Thomas could've had a brace when he came on and Chair had an effort well saved as well. This feels like it should go down as one of those games for us.
Our goalscoring run was amazing whilst we had it, but we knew that would end at some point. We've done superbly to make it last as long as it has done, and now it's up to the players to see how they respond to their first league shut-out. We have some difficult games coming up very soon, so at least they won't have too much time to reflect on this!
Yesterday’s game reminded me of the Stoke game I went to and we went 2-0 down very quickly and I thought that’s probably about it but on that occasion eze produced a piece of magic to get us back into to it and went on to win 4-2 but yesterday we just didn’t have that spark up front and Stoke basically knew we would leave openings, especially on the break bit of a smash and grab really,we made Stoke look like a good team and they are very average and it was their first win in London in 7 years Adhoma missing was part of the missing link yesterday and i also think the amount riding on the game has a lot to with it too,it must be added pressure to start talking going in the top 3 before the game

I couldn't go yesterday so watched late last night without knowing the score. First 10 mins we were so in control was just waiting for us to score and expecting an easy win but once they got in front we were in trouble as they had something to hold onto and carried a threat on the break that other sides haven't in recent weeks. The penalty killed us if we score that it's a different game but overall they deserved to win
