Well confirmed in the WLS that it is indeed the old BA sports ground (the Concorde Centre) is the site QPR are now after. They are in talks with Imperial College and presumably this would result in the club purchasing and developing the site, whilst Imperial would get use of the improved facilities?
TF and RG continue to build up the fans just to let them down with a mighty bump. So far they have told us that our new stadium will be at Old Oak Common then once that one was proved to be Smoke and Mirrors they moved onto the Linford Christie Stadium.
In the meantime TF was also telling us what a great job he was doing and that agreement had been reached to build a new training complex at Warren Farm. It was never going to happen and it was just more of his smoke and mirrors to try and cover up the financial mess he has made at QPR. Warren Farm was a free site and the only costs would be to build the training ground.
Is buying the Concorde Centre really feasible? Where is the money coming from to not only buy the site but to build a completely new complex.

I am not sure home much TF is involved these days, we don't really hear from him on the official QPR website anymore. I am not on social media so not sure how vocal he is on there?
All the reports suggest a done deal and i am guessing planning will be a lot easier as its already an training ground so it should be a lot more straight forward as long as we are not looking at major changes

Agree it should be fairly straight forward as only likely delay would be related to planning permission for any new structures, but temporary structures (like portacabins) would get round that until work was completed. Let's get going!
Just seen that and it is indeed good news that we are not only gaining use of the training ground but are also acquiring the freehold. Next step will be obtaining planning permission for the necessary buildings required to bring the facilities up to EFL standards at least. I see all of the Women's games will be played there instead of Uxbridge FC, which makes sense but does mean the public will gain access at times. The whole process of upgrading the facilities will take far less time than on a virginal site like Warren Farm!
It really is good news for us. I very much doubt it will be QPR FC Ltd holding the freehold but one of the owners companies but we have never owned our own training ground so don't see that as a major issue, plus having all teams under one roof will provide other cost savings.
I would guess that there has been conversations with local planners already on the changes required so would expect the changes to start quickly. I may have to make contact to offer my companies surveying services :-)

Strange to think that when we are able to attend either the Women's matches or training sessions I can go there again after 36 years! When I was there before I was attending a BA Open Day with my family, prior to shipping out to Saudia Arabian Airlines for 9 years! Still at least the kerosene in the air will smell the same...

I get your suspicion of TF but Ruben seems genuine as does Amit. I really don't think we have ever owned a training ground so don't see it as a big deal if its not owned by QPR Holdings. They would make a fortune if they did decide to turn it in to housing but just cant see that happening either.

I really hope you are right about them not turning it into a housing estate and I believe you are right about us never owning a training ground but by the same token I don't remember ever having had an owner that is poacher and gamekeeper. Leasing your training ground like leasing your stadium means you are always at the control of your landlord. When your landlord who is also your owner can set the lease then I would not only be suspicious but as fans we should be concerned.
They all might be genuine guys but when they took over QPR we had an income of millions and played in the Premiership. We are now a struggling Championship club with little money and as every year passes we fall further behind our opposition.
I will try and keep a open mind on their intentions and when they give the club a 1000 year lease on a peppercorn rent its possible that I might think they have QPR at heart.
Realistically they only have their own pockets at heart and as a businessman you will know better than most that profit is the name of the game!

After years or dodgy owners, mismanagement etc I feel your pain and share your thoughts (I think we all do) and yes profit has to come first but to me the current owners want the club to be self sustainable and profitable so they get their money back even if its over many years. They have every reason and excuse to close the doors now due to covid as we are losing £hundreds of thousands if not £millions per month whilst we play behind close doors. They could easily sell the ground and get some if not all the money back and could even look at housing on the training ground to make even more. I genuinely believe that Ruben and Amit have our best interests at heart and want us to be successful but in a way that is sustainable so there is a profit to be had but importantly they have a saleable asset when they are ready. At the moment the club is worthless. I bloody hope I am right as the other side of the coin isn't rosy for us.
