We have improved since the abysmal Hendrick went off. If we do ever get MW on a podcast we have to ask why he is persisting with him when he literally offers NOTHING. He went back every time and always seems to have a knack of killing any momentum by taking a touch and slowing the game down.
Hendrick did take too many touches, but you could say the same about many of our players on the pitch tonight. I think it has a lot to do with confidence.
Another disappointing result as it ends 1-0 to Sheffield United.
Indeed. The Blades worked hard to prevent our midfield from linking up with the strikers, so Chair (and to a lesser extent Dykes) were coming back to get the ball. That meant they were unavailable when the midfield wanted to work a ball upfield. We are struggling to play the way we normally do without Willock's hold up play and magic. Add to that the defensive nature of both Hendrick and Wallace and you have a side not working together. We did play better when the subs came on, but what does Amos have to do to start a game - or even get on the pitch?
Warburton got it wrong again tonight. It makes no sense playing 2 strikers but not supporting them with players who can give them the service they need. Gray and Dykes were passengers for the majority of the time they were on the pitch together. In the midfield poor Sam Field must be wondering when he will get any help from some other QPR midfielder. The guy works his socks off and gets no help.
My admiration for the fans who made that long trip tonight, they deserved better.
After tonight the board will know that any hope of the play offs has disappeared and we are staying in the Championship. Its important that they now make decisions on who they want to keep and start sorting new contracts for those personnel . The only reason not to get the players contracts sorted would be if they are intending to bring in a new manager.
The result isn't a shock but what is really frustrating me is we didn't lay a glove on them. It wasn't like a 1-0 where they were hanging on, we did very little.
We looked totally out of ideas from the kick off. Zero confidence or belief in what we are trying to do. That is what could cost Warburton his job - we seem to have lost track of what we are trying to do.
This stat that follows is probably worthy of a thread in itself but we had 1 shot on target tonight...
That follows 2 against Fulham, 1 against Peterborough and 1 against Nottingham Forest
5 shots on target in this run of 4 defeats. That's a shot on target every 72 minutes. Dismal.
What has happened to us? This is the same team that had 26 shots in a match earlier this season.
This is a painful end to the season We are just getting picked off and then the other teams know we got about as much firepower as a fire extinguisher to get a goal back How many goals have we scored lately,not many and we are just continuing to lose games The injuries and the the team are so unbalanced right now and it’s a case of seeing out these games and as i mentioned before I can’t see us winning another game now It’s a realistic view as to how poor this team and manager look right now,from what we were and now seeing this team get beaten easily by average teams home and away is sole destroying at times But that’s the joys of being a QPR fan

I saw enough to know both of these teams will be in the Championship again next season. Both teams were there for the taking, but I can't recall either keeper having a proper save to make.
Hopefully Wednesday can get promoted to give us a second trip to Sheffield next season!
