Ainsworth isn’t nowhere near warburton league if we’re honest There isn’t any manager on the list that is Only rowett who isn’t interested would be ideal Whoever we get is going to be a big gamble and warburton maybe proved he wasn’t instantly replaceable

I love Ainsworth and very much like when Ian Holloway came in I think he'd galvanise the support and give a feelgood factor.
But - and this one we wouldn't know the answer to until he's been here a few months - does he fit the style of football? We are meant to now have a set model and style and we should sign players and hire the manager to fit in with that. Does Ainsworth do that? That's the big question mark... has he played a style of football at Wycombe to get results with the players he had at his disposal? Can he play it primarily on the ground and on the front foot based about possession?
So I don't think it will be Ainsworth yet...I'd bring him in if the new manager fails by Christmas...Ainsworth clearly knows how to win games with limited resources and we may get to a point where we're all happy with that because the alternative is a relegation fight.
But you can't just switch from the football we've all been enjoying for the last three years to an attractional style of football overnight...and no way are you going to attract the next Eze or Willock playing that way.
Basically you'd need a complete squad overhaul to bring in the type of players who suit his strengths
Ainsworth coming in smells of Fernandes trying to get the fans back onside as he did with Holloway. I think he's a good manager and may well do well but who is bringing him in concerns me. Right or wrong we should go with whoever Ferdinand wants and if it goes badly wrong he goes as well.
On the style of play most managers are quite pragmatic, if they have a squad more suited to playing out from the back they'll play that way if it's got several 6 foot strikers and good crossers of the ball you go direct
which i really hope it isnt and there is a Plan A well hidden somewhere.
however if it is from that list out of that list we should have stuck with Warburton, i was happy when we sacked MW because i was under the impression we already had a plan lined up with this in hindsight i wish we kept hold of MW and built on the foundations hes already created.
got recipe for disaster written all over this now for me.
Ainsworth great fella but is suited to Wycombe and for me this job is 1 or 2 levels too high for him. Manning and Rowberry know little about them but like Ainsworth this job a level or 2 too high? Robinson good league 1 manager at best? Eustace i still think hes going to get it as it gives sir les more chance of more input so if it goes wrong the buck can easily stop with nice guys Eustace and Ramsey who will stay on as youth development regardless
If the management appointment goes sour i think we need to look higher up to possibly changing the powers that be from director of football and above.
big season coming for Sir Leslie.
if he gets it right hes a genius if wrong will he be removed? it might have to happen
They could well be waiting until after the L1 play-offs this weekend before approaching Ainsworth. Probably more chance of getting him if Wycombe don't make it up!
Ha - just said this too in a WLS article ranger-boy! So I agree - Ainsworth appears to be the reason they have been delaying the interviews..... I also said the same as northwesthoop mentioned about Ainsworth not fitting our current style of play that well. Surely we are not going to go through all the upheaval of a new manager and adapting our playing style as well!?

I suspect Ainsworth is like most managers and players, they pledge total loyalty until they are offered something better. Or is that just me being cynical.

That's not you being cynical, that's you simply understanding how the system works in football

Liam Manning has reportedly said he’s leaning towards staying at MK Dons after speaking to QPR.
If true you'd think it's between Ainsworth and Eustace, perhaps Robinson.
You have to wonder again why we bothered to get rid of Warburton. We clearly didn't have a specific replacement in mind. It's all well and good interviewing multiple candidates, but just seems odd to me that they took such big decision to part company with Warburton without a very specific plan.
well as it seems that they didnt have a well hidden Plan A which i was praying they would show us at some point im thinking this is going to be a Eustace/ Ramsey head coach and assistant double.
Had this feeling for a long time, again i reiterate why didnt we keep hold of Warbs.
who can belive i was happy with their decision to sack MW lets hope this Plan A does come out in the end. better late than never so to speak
