With Gareth Ainsworth in charge we have zero chance of getting Ireogbunam back. He won't touch the ball.
I have a fear clubs will be wary of sending us players now because of our style of play.
But Tim isn’t a ball playing midfielder? He’s a runner and nothing more.
I disagree, he is at his best running forward with the ball at his feet, driving at players, dropping the shoulder and breaking through the lines, like against Reading home, Preston away. I admit he didn't do it enough, but with Ainsworth in charge he didn't even touch the ball, never mind try and run with it.
I'll have to eat my words if this happens, I really can't see why they want him at QPR but maybe they think it's making him learn some different sides of the game and building his character.
Tim Iroegbunam has been left out of the Villa squad for their visit to the US. Their local paper report, "Given Villa’s midfield depth, it is highly likely that he will be loaned out next season."

I have my fingers crossed as I think he will be an asset, although I did think we had enough AM!

I think that Ainsworth would see him as the defensive midfield replacement for Stefan Johansen and use him as a screen for the back four. I'd imagine that if Tim did come back then Ainsworth would be looking to start with,
Until we bring in a central defender and another right back our defence is very weak. It will also be interesting to see if they continue to chase Assombalonga.
I know you are just stating what most of us already think stoatey, but seeing Willock's name as only a 'possible' starter is a shock. How far he has fallen! Let's hope we see the real Chris Willock reappear soon!!

I'm with jimjams in thinking that Willock will be sold and anyway it might be in the interests of both him and the club. Willock has become a bit injury prone and despite the club suggesting he's been offered a new contract nothing has been signed.
We know that when he's on form he can be top class in this league and I'd like to think that the competition for his place from the the signing of Smyth could spur him on but we have to get smarter and not let saleable players get into the last year of their contracts.
