After weathering their early pressure which we anticipated in the podcast we've been electric.
Dieng made a big save in that early period but once we scored twice in quick succession we have been well on top and really should have scored at least 1 more. We were guilty of the wrong final pass a few times and Chair had an effort just wide.
We need to be careful though because only an exceptional block from JCS stopped them getting 1 back just before the break.
They will probably change shape and won't be as bad in the second half.
If we get a third it could be game over.
I agree northwesthoop, I'd expect them to start the 2nd half fast but if we maintain our shape I'd be hopeful we can catch them on the break.
Wr started slowly and Dieng made a good save from a Wells header but City would have felt lucky to only go in 2 goals down at half time because if Chair and Roberts had been more clinical the win could have been easier.
Overall it was a big win and a tremendous team performance. Shame that JCS has picked up another injury hope it's not serious.
anyone at the game or saw the game tell me how JCS played? really feel miffed for young Jimmy Dunne having to settle for a place on the bench truth be known especially after back to back clean sheets. great to see Tyler Roberts get on the scoresheet too all we need now is for big Lyndon to find the back of the net and watch the goals start flying in again.
great great result.
great league position and my earlier nerves after the Rotherham and Blackpool results well behind me.
just wish Dunne was in the starting XI as for me Jimmy is a great big part of QPRs future and in my opinion will be vital for team morale and keeping a good atmosphere in the changing rooms.
Edit just read some posts: ive seen that JCS picked up another injury another reason why Dunne should not be left out really hope he isnt constantly the centre half that makes way regularly for me Dickie Dunne and then JCS in that order with Balogun making life hard too tho with exceptional performances recent so totally understand Leons involvement.
it all for me says we need to start a back 3 soon as we now have 4 very good centre backs when all are fit that is.

I have to say that I was a bit surprised that Dunne didn't start today but JCS did a brilliant job and looks so calm and in control at all times. It's great that we now have 4 very decent centre backs and its going to be a difficult choice for Mick Beale when they are all fit. We saw when JCS limped off that Jimmy Dunne is more than capable of playing in that left sided role.
However, I would imagine that when we play a 4-3-3 formation that Mick Beale will choose Balogun and JCS as his first choice pairing.
Arguably he is 4th choice when we play a 2 behind JCS, Dickie and Balogun.
Rightly or wrongly there is no doubting that is how Beale see's it.
Didnt know opinions were a crime
we got 3 points so its easy to back the managers decision on this occasion but i am not blinkered i see things deeper than others and can see possible problems developing lets just say and its very possible JCS is out injured again Dunne is always available and fights for this club very much with his heart on his sleeves he may go in and play for his life like he has done with 2 clean sheets to show for it only thinking (whats the point when JCS is back im on the bench anyway) i wouldnt blame his game going down a peg or 2 because this could very easily become an issue for Dunne in the future i wouldnt blame him would you?
your opinion is Dunne is 4th choice
my opinion differs despite the FACT Dunne is of a good age so for me him being higher up the pecking order would not only be good for Dunnes development but also good for the club being of a good charachter makes more sense Dunne playing week in week out instead of the ageing Balogun for example? Yes hes played very well (Balogun) and would be harshly done by being left out at the moment just like Dunne. the best thing for Beale today would have been Balogun and Dunne the first choice centre back pairing.
That said why has JCS been selected over either of them 2? (Dunne or Balogun) makes no sense. fair enough he got the nod at start of the season mainly because Beale signed JCS and i understand that as managers starting a new job want to stamp authority on a team and they all bring in their own players but feel it very wrong to change the CB pairing on this occasion.
i actually think Dickie is now 4th choice truth be known and him being injured wasnt as huge a blow as it would have been last season.
in my opinion Jimmy Dunne has done nothing wrong at all and arguably our best defender last season as well as being very good in the past 2 clean sheets previous to this game
Always gives 100 per cent to the QPR cause only to be overlooked by a player that so far has done nothing except be injured (JCS) for me it would be good man management to allow Dunne to continue flourishing rather than make him feel like he will always be behind the new gaffers teachers pet (JCS).
im all for JCS winning that role full time as by all accounts today he looked strong but let him get in by merit not just because Beale signed him
for me i would rather have kept Barbet than sign JCS at least his fellow signing Balogun has come in and looks like hes got a clean bill of health.
like Stoaty says we now have 4 very good centre backs and 2 of them are going to miss out each week i just hope for love and money Jimmy Dunne doesnt get fed up and look for first team football because hes been an absolute gem of a find and hes not only my personal current favourite of our current crop of hoops but i also see a future club legend like Alan McDonald in him also.
After the game Mick Beale reported that the reason that JCS went off was cramp and Paal was taken off with bit of cramp and a dead leg.
We are going to see more and more players going off with 'niggles' as the Championship progresses because the pace and frequency of the league is so great. This season we have not had a panic at the back as CBs have been side-lined by injuries (for which we should be thankful). Instead, our problems are more focused upon keeping the few 'strikers' and attackers fit and dangerous to oppositions!
