Dozzell so, so lucky. Held the guys shirt clear as day in the box, pulling it for ages as he ran through the box. I think VAR gives that as a pen. It is soft and the guy doesn't need to go down, but Dozzell was stupid.

A great team performance once again and do agree that Field was superb! A toss-up between Field and Balogun for MotM?
As with Amos & Dozzell, Albert coming on with minimal match minutes showed he was not at his best. Dieng's reflex save on 58 minutes may well have secured the match.
Concerns with Willock's left thigh injury; Balogun's right thigh injury; and Dieng's injury that prevented him from taking the goal-kicks.
Having said all that, we won against a side packed with PL-quality (including a £26m sub) who were league leaders (but acted like a skilled Millwall)!

What a result that was but for me more about the performance, we were superb.

They were the better side first half but we always posed a threat and were so well organised at the back, it was really only long range shots all night. Second half we stepped up as an attacking unit and even after scoring created some good chances. Roberts really should have killed the game off with the one hew missed.

So many outstanding performances. Chair so good on the ball all night. Field was immense in midfield as was Amos and Dozzell both worlds away from the lightweight players they were when they first joined. Credit has to go to Beale for the turnaround in Dozzell, he's improved so much off the ball this season. The back 4 were all brilliant, Paal looks an outstanding signing and Beale did a great job switching to a back 3, we looked impossible to break down second half, so well drilled

The Willock injury is a blow and it looked a bad one but this team feels like it has a bit more about it than last season, As good as we were at times under Warbs last year, rarely did we control games as we have in recent weeks.

A very long way to go but this is a very exciting team we have

I’m too tired to say much after that, all I’ll say is that was a special night out and a fantastic result!

Oh, and the A1 is an absolute bastard of a motorway when they decide to close it and divert through the middle of sodding nowhere

Sorry to jump straight to the negative because it really was a great result and a great performance...but to lose Willock AND Dieng just when we were starting to motor is really upsetting. I agree with DaveB that I don't think we'll see an abject collapse, like we did last season when Willock and Dieng were out, but it's surely clear for everyone to see that those two players are THE two most important players for us, one in attack and one in defense.

As long as we are without them it's going to be a grind and I predict more defeats and more draws. I fear Dieng will be out for a handful of games and Willock out til after the word cup...9 games!

My hope now, if that's correct, is that we can stay in touch with the top six until they return.

We have 1 point from 9 without him.
