0-3, Ainsworth is totally out of his depth. The team was set up wrong to cope with the Coventry midfield and Ainsworth didn't have a clue that he needed to change things.
Ainsworth has only helped towards our relegation When we are officially down I hope we sack him One of the worst managers we’ve had He’s clueless and out of his depth Always a legend as a player but not as a manager I’m afraid

The Coventry fans filled both tiers and were noisy - something the Rs fans rarely were. We never controlled the game and rarely got the second balls. There was effort but that cannot compensate for a slower defence and Martin making it look like we were playing with 10 on the field. Ainsworth did set them up wrongly and, more importantly, did too little too late to remedy it. Very disappointed ☹️

Another side point but how bad was Willock when he came on? He's arguably had a bigger fall from grace than Dickie. Willock was at fault for the 3rd goal with a terrible pass and everything else he tried was just crosses straight at the opponents. Not his fault we lost of course, I just cannot get my head around how far he - and the team - have fallen.
We might as well admit it The obvious is going to happen now 2 wins in 27 games and a hideous goal difference We won’t win again this season So that’s league one football next season
That was shocking. 3 mess ups leading to 3 counter attacks and 3 goals. Coventry were clinical. We worked hard but created virtually nothing although we did get onto the front foot early in the second half. The substitutions only made us worse. Chair was having a shocker but Richards was no better and dribbled into trouble to give away a goal. Lowe did nothing. And who is that person in Willock's shirt? As already mentioned, his shocking pass gave away another goal. Only Laird looked an improvement.
A quick word on Coventry. They are a nasty, niggly team but they are so clinical when they win back possession and break quickly. Surely we knew that and should have tried to avoid giving the ball away cheaply. Their fans were amazing throughout.
Ainsworth sounded exasperated in his post match interview which is totally understandable after watching such a dire performance.
He bemoans that we are too open yet he leaves the midfield light, he continues to play Dickie who has been out of form for months and plays Dunne as a right back. All of this is compounded by him continuing to play Chris Martin who is nothing more than a passenger and is slower than Dickie.
At some stage Ainsworth has to ask himself whether he's able to motivate these players because several of them look like they don't give a sh1t.

All true! Chair certainly had an 'off day', Willock was indeed at fault for the third goal and was also below par, Laird was good when he came on, and Lowe did very little of merit; but the one truly awful player was Martin. Does making him captain mean Ainsworth thinks three times before substituting Martin? We are playing minus a player as long as he is on the pitch - we could have had that extra midfielder on that stoatey mentioned was needed! Players did work hard, although seldom hunting in twos to get the ball back, so it was disappointing to see nothing for their efforts. My wife quickly identified Adomah as our best player, which he probably was in the first 20-30 minutes, but once again Sam Field was everywhere, trying to make up for gaps in the defence. We have to accept that other sides know we are weak up front and slow at the back against fast breaks. We will continue to be punished whilst we are set up so poorly. We need 3 x CBs, with wing-backs to strengthen our defence, and someone (anyone) else up front but Martin alongside Dykes! Anyone want Adomah up there instead...?
You are right to highlight how anonymous Martin was kingfisher
It was the same against Wigan and Preston.
And the horrific thing is if we go down you just know he will be kept on as our No. 9 next season for more cannonball. Ainsworth loves him and we play long to him despite the fact it doesn't really suit the rest of the players and Martin doesn't impact the game anyway. Totally bizarre.
