It has been a disconnected team performance, with Albert's rash attempt at a clearance epitomising the Half! What on earth does Ainsworth think Martin brings to the attack?? Armstrong on a sick bed could do better! Zonal marking is allowing them time to organise their attacks. We need to press much closer.

Just so disappointing. We are so far second best it is rather harrowing. It speaks volumes about the task at hand this summer.

Not sure why it took Ainsworth over 60 minutes to hook Albert and Martin.

An awful season ends with a whimper. Our defending is a shambles and up front we had 16 shots but not one was on target.

So without Reading's point deduction we would have survived - just - by a point from Cardiff.

But that match summed us up - woeful to watch, disjointed, too easy to score against, rarely threatening - ZERO shots on target.

I was hoping that we would see something today to give us a reason to be optimistic for next season but it was the complete opposite.

The jury is still out for me regarding Ainsworth because I'm not sure that any manager could get any consistency from such a poor quality squad. Ainsworth needs to rebuild the whole team and that means wholesale changes. I'd extend Willocks contract by 12 months but any other player whose out of contract or has been a sicknote I'd let go. In addition I'd be trying to offload Hamalainin, Amos, Dozzell, Dickie, Albert and Johansen who are out of their depth at Championship level. In respect of every player I'd listen to sensible offers for any of them.

If they haven't been sold then the only players I can see in the starting line up for our first match next season are Dieng, Paal, Field, Chair and Dykes.
