There are lots of rumours on Twitter tonight that Sir Les is leaving the club.

If true it is bizarre that its taken 6 weeks since the season ended to make that decision.

Mark Warburton has also left his coaching role at West Ham and some fans think he could be coming back as DOF to replace Les.

Maybe the news is different altogether but something to do with Les seems the most likely - if there is even any news at all!!

I personally think Warbs will go to Swansea, he's going to need the owners and Hoos to bend over begging for him to come back here, it wasn't just Les that he fell out with

Les' greatest weakness has always been letting the manager get what he wants, that has always undermined his position.

If the club is now going to allow Ainsworth to pick and choose his players do we even need to replace Les?

I think we should have a DOF, but we never seem to stick to any plan so it seems pointless right now having one.

So, was it a question of Sir Les or GA demanding a striker that led to this - and why were two professionals so far apart in their visions? I suspect we will never know....

I would her VERY VERY VERY wary of Warburton coming in as DoF. Ferdinand’s go to was Tottenham Rejects, and from Warburton’s words last season, and from his habit as a manager, his go to would be PL rejects and outcasts. You could end up with a team full of Tyler Roberts’. Personally would like to see the role dissolved altogether. With the academy allegedly not strong, there is no need for one. The manager will set the footballing tone.

A concern now is again the issue of how do we attract players.

I know a lot of fans will be happy Les is gone but from the outside we continue to look like a club in turmoil. This change only adds to that negative image from the outside looking in.

I said it all along but I really don't see many players being keen to come to QPR right now.

They way you attract is by picking up players on the up from divisions below, or equivalent leagues abroad. London will always be an attraction, the division will always be an attraction. But the best way to attract is to shop in the markets where the Championship is considered a step up. You don’t want to be buying players who are stepping down in to the Championship.

I have never really got to grips with what Sir Les actually did. If he was responsible for bringing in loaners and new players then it is only right he reconsider his DoF role - as there were poor choices made over many seasons. If, as the WLS imply, it was GA demanding control of selecting players then the DoF role becomes redundant, and Sir Les has not been supported by the Board.

After I pressed ENTER I saw that Charlie Austin made a cryptic tweet about 'great news', so that is telling; and WLS is suggesting Gallen as his replacement!
