Well the game may have been poor to watch, but at least it was still a fun night out! Leeds weren't the greatest last night, but we also didn't do enough to make them have to up the levels. I was fearing the worst at 1-0 down so early, but it was one of those games where you knew we'd get one chance as long as we could stay in it. That chance came from Dykes, but ultimately wasn't our night. The red card didn't make any difference as Leeds were happy to just keep the ball and see out the 1-0. I fully undersand why the referee sent Begovic off as it it did look like he caught him from where we were, and from where the ref was. It was only when on the way home after that we saw the video of the blatant dive.
As poor as it was on the pitch, most of the locals I met last night were superb to chat to (and weirdly thought we were unlucky to come away with nothing) and a nice day/evening out. However I thought it was weird that Leeds were happy to shove a load of home fans right in front of the away support with next to no segregation in place. Goading in the minority from both sides with the disabled section smack in the middle, therefore caught in the crossfire. I can't see them getting away with doing that when Millwall or any of the Yorkshire clubs go there!
Oh, and I'm growing to hate a good section of our away following. Cringeworthy songs that don't support the side, and only make them look completely moronic.
On to the next one!
Glad you enjoyed most of it Ranger boy! Hope it felt like it was worth the trip…weird ground isn’t it sort of in an odd place…
I don't think the defence has been that bad overall.
The big question is how do we get better at attacking?
Can anybody think of a line up that accommodates Chair, Willock, Smyth, Dykes and Armstrong all in the same team?
I doubt that Ainsworth would ever start all 5 of them because it would mean he'd have to leave out Field or Colback. However, if we were a goal down with 10/15 minutes to go you could see him maybe taking off Colback or Field for Willock. In the past the Chair/Willock partnership down the left has worked well.

I am glad you said that about some of our away supporters ranger-boy - I felt the same in the pre-seasons!
