How do Stoke - who finished around 16th for 5 years in a row now - keep attracting managers from teams above them?
If Schumacher goes there he's not learnt anything from Alex Neill swapping an upward Sunderland for a downhill Stoke.2
It certainly wasn't a scouting mission by Stoke because Argyle played and beat them at Home Park on December 2nd.
Schumacher had plenty of success alongside Ryan Lowe before Lowe moved to Preston so whether its solely about wages and a huge transfer budget who knows. I'd doubt it though as the owner of Plymouth is a local guy who made good as an investment manager in the States. He has invested millions in the club and is currently building a new huge training complex.
Plymouth may not have as big a budget as Stoke but its very well run and the owner is not afraid to spend as he showed when paying a million pounds for Morgan Whittaker and then another million for Fin Azzaz who are both young and had been on loan last season from Swansea and Villa respectively.
The only drawbacks that Schumacher probably has at Plymouth is attracting players to the West country and the travel to away matches but the support is tremendous with all the home matches sold out and they regularly take 2,000 fans to away games.
Personally I dont think that Schumacher would leave Plymouth for Stoke but as we know it's probably all about the money!
