I personally think we’re as good down now We’ve created another points deficit that we shouldn’t of done And I can’t see us getting more than another 5 or 6 wins anyway rest of the season Its not rocket science to stay up you have to beat the teams around you we do not seem capable of doing that so without miracle results against good teams like leeds and ipswich we are playing in league one next season

"We lacked the capacity to understand the space today was behind their back line".
The lack of leadership and understanding by the players that are on the pitch for QPR has been a huge issue for several seasons. In the recent game against Hull even Leroy Rosenior made the point that our players were constantly going to the touchline to get guidance from Marti.
It seems that not only do we need better quality players but we also need more intelligent players who can understand instructions as well as read the game!
There is no doubt that having a captain stuck on the goal-line, rather than in the middle of the action, is a negative. I would have given the role to Sam Field. I would also have given Steve Cook and Colback permission to roast anyone around them who underperforms - including Begovic! I have yet to see the 'Full 90' but it seems Smyth did not take on players and Dozzell did not push forward as demanded by Cifuentes. Dykes struggles enough without having poor service, and you cannot expect Chair to do everything. A positive out of all this: Larkeche and Dixon-Bonner have shown they are more than willing to battle to get the ball, and both should start more games I feel. Willock pulling up in the Millwall match's warm-up was a blow, especially as the Starting XI must have been set-up with him and Chair in mind.
Just read that QPR have lost the most games across the EFL over the past 5 years and the last 10 years. We are just a shambles.
We've needed a reset for a long time.
And haven't been relegated(yet). Almost seems impossible to do that. But I guess teams that lost a lot of games got relegated and then started winning in a lower division. Still, nothing to be proud of. I think we need to hit rock bottom before we can start on the way back up. Unfortunately, I don't think we're there yet.

I dont think I'm saying anything new but our issues all stem from our lack of quality recruitment and the decisions of some very poor managers. When we did manage to generate some cash from the sale of Eze they gave c.£10m to Warburton who bought Dykes (c. £2.2m) , Bonne (c.£2.2m), Dickie (c.£2.7m), Amos (c.£1m) Kelman (c.£1m)and Willock (c.£0.75m). To make matters worse we've had to pay off Bonne to get rid, Amos was a hardly ever fit and we sold Dickie to a fellow Championship team for a c.£2m loss. Of those that remain, Dykes works hard but has never been a goal scorer, Willock, is out of form and is likely to leave on a free next summer whilst Kelman is out of his depth and struggled in League 2.
The trouble for Marti is that the core of the team he's inherited is just not Championship calibre and he can juggle the team as much as he wants it won't make any difference. The core of the players he has to pick from (Begovic, Archer, Kakay, Drewe, Dunne, Dozzell, Field, Adomah, Richards, Smyth, Dykes, Duke-McKenna and Kelman) would struggle in League One. Players like Colback, Fox, Cook are in the latter stages of their careers and like JCS are injury prone players who are decent when you can get them fit but it will be amazing if we ever see the 4 of them in the same starting line up.
Since Warburton wasted the family silver we've been restricted to bringing in loan signings and bargain basement players who are attracted to the club because we offer over inflated wage deals.
Whatever happens this season we have to stick with Marti and let him rebuild squad. If we're lucky Marti might have a few Scandanavian gems that he's on the verge of signing.
I would be interested to know who had the final decisions on those signings. For me it's more overall club mismanagement to blame than Mark Warburton, who for my money has us ticking along ok year after year overall. For any faults I'd go back to his reign in a heartbeat.

I am guessing we will never know how those deals were raised, agreed and negotiated. Whether Sir Les ran with them and made mistakes or whether it was Warburton demanding them, we will probably never know. Paying off Critchley and Ainsworth has not helped the club's purse either!
On a happier note: Yesterday at walking football we had a surprise visitor - hastingshoop! Ian is recovering from major surgery on a brain tumour, before starting radiotherapy next week. Everyone was absolutely delighted to see him, even looking as if he has gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson! Ian is the one at the front, sitting down, and I am behind him in the QPR shirt.

Warbs did well but in each of his 3 seasons he had spells where we were horrific and couldn't buy a win, that 19/20 season we were on the verge of the playoffs before covid then were lucky to stay up after losing almost every game in the return This season has been coming for a while, we look doomed to me and need major surgery to change it. Out of that squad only Chair, Willock and Clarke Salter would get in a top half team and none of them are particularly brilliant. So much needs to change but still no new Director of football 6 months after les left and still no new Chairman 2 months after Amit left. Club is an absolute mess.

I completely agree that we stick with Cifuentes next season, even if we do go down. Wrecking yet another manager's short term future would be a real same, especially one who has a lot of promises. The common denominator in all of this over the past year or so has been the squad, it's simply not good enough. I very much doubt that Marti will have the time, and clearly not the funds to turn the ship around this season. But, a preseason and more time at the club, I firmly believe he can be a great fit for us, and build something sustainable and successful...relatively speaking.
