Sensational result. With our recent form it is amazing that we're still only out of the relegation zone on goal difference. It is so QPR to lose at Stoke & Sheff Wed but win at Leicester and draw at Ipswich.
Watched on the stream from 5,300 miles away and was a superb, disciplined team performance. Agree with comments about Cifuentes who got tactics spot on and had a very patient Leicester team looking toothless in attack by the end. The plan to replace Dykes and Anderson with Armstrong and Smyth after 55 minutes worked a treat. Also going to a back 5 for last 20 minutes by subbing on little seen Morgan Fox paid off.
The tracking back by midfield players was a real feature with special mention for Chair who I don't think I have ever seen work so hard defensively. Also think he took that one chance in the first half really well as he had to sort out his feet quickly and go with his left foot.
Leicester were in the end far too patient and victim of what has happened to Rangers far too often at home...running out of ways and ideas to break down opponents sitting deep. Vardy came on after 60 mins and basically did not have a sniff. Remember when people said Warburton had no Plan B with us? Same can be said of Maresca. They should have slung it into the box more, 'first contact, second ball'. Ipswich now just 3 points away in second.
Dunne is now undropppable IMO...Field covered and covered and had key block...Dykes perfect ball for goal...Armstrong instinctive finish. Way to go but light years away from Ainsworth Dark Ages.

100% agree with all your points lafcranger ! Basically, the right team was selected to ensure Leicester were restricted on the time they had to move the ball around and, with minimal possession, we struck when possible to score!! Onwards and upwards now I hope....
A brilliant team performance where everyone pulled together and despite only having 26% possession we took our only 2 chances on goal.
In the first half I thought Leicester targeted Dunne who stood firm and did a brilliant job. I keep thinking that the opposition will find him out but he's been a revelation and he's now gone from being a back up central defender to first choice right back. Down the left Paal made a fantastic goal line clearance and it kept us
The January transfer window allowed us to add some decent players who've added some much needed competition for places and we are now seeing players like Willock and Field raising their game to a level we haven't seen from them for a while.
Of course the men that really need the big plaudits are Marti and Xavi Calm who devised a Plan A and then once that needed changing they switched to Plan B to see the game out. Xavi Calm has been working with the defence and between the two of them they have taken a dire team who looked totally unorganised and have now turned them into a much more organised team.
The only downer in this Is it feels every time we take a step forward we take one back We technically are still 3rd bottom and only 3 points of 2nd bottom We’ve achieved so much over the last few weeks but all the other teams keep winning too I jumped up in the air when I saw yesterdays result and then looked at all the other results and thought how the F?ck did that happen and they all won We deserve more the team deserves to be clear of the relegation zone not agonising near it

I know what you mean we were coming from a long way back. To be where we are now is a big improvement. We were 8 points adrift when Marti joined. I’d also say that it is all about us now. Another 14 points would get us to 52 which would be a decent total. We’d be very unlucky to be relegated with that. Finally. Imagine being a Wednesday or Stoke or Huddersfield fan. Great results from all of them and then they see that we won at Leicester. That must be a real sickener for them.

Exactly this, Stoke got a great win and would have expected to rise up the table and didn't.
It's in our own hands, we have great form and momentum and have shown we have no teams we need to fear.
Under Cifuentes we've been competitive in every single game bar Millwall away on Boxing Day. We are never getting battered like we were under Ainsworth.
We also aren't conceding many at all which to me is the key factor. Look at the last 3 goals conceded over the last 4 games - Stoke corner. Rotherham mistake. Leicester free kick. In general play we really aren't giving up much.
Everything points towards us being ok, but we need to keep our foot on the gas until the final day of the season.
I totally agree with Dunne as MOTM kingfisher. I hope he remembered to take Mavididi out of his pocket before he left the King power stadium! I thought JCS and Cook were fantastic too.
We are 5th in the league table over the last six games... Play off form! Even a slight drop off in form should see us safe
Long way to go but of all the teams in that bunch of 7 or 8 at the bottom, we are the form team and that counts for a lot.
Also worth pointing out we play Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Swansea and Plymouth, all teams who are safe or likely to be safe who don't have much to play for... We will have an advantage in those games
Looking at the bottom of the table is horrible isn't it? Birmingham are right in the mix of chaos... and Blackburn look lost. I think I saw enough to feel more than confident we can survive. It is worrying that Huddersfield and Sheff Wed are playing pretty reasonable football but I don't think we have to worry about that any longer. There are three teams that are starting to play badly whereas we are starting to play free flowing, confident football - although still unpredictable I think we are playing well enough to avoid this madness. And you can only wonder if the manager gets a few more players, next season could be a real cracker... but I speak too soon.
im still worried but we have achieved so much to get ourselves in the mix with everyone else and to be honest sheffield wednesday also have done well as they were dead and buried like us at one point it could go down to the final day and i hope we are safe by then
