Not a great result but other teams don't matter if we look after ourselves.
What on earth has happened to Leicester? They ran away with the league for 80% of the season and how can't beat anybody!!
Leicester are still up there though They need to be careful of not missing out on a top 2 spot It’s squeaky bum time towards the end of the season anyone can beat anybody now But Leicester have done us no favours by Millwall beating them and Plymouth both unexpected wins have let those teams keep within reach with us

It’s going to be a disaster by look of it Blackburn are beating Leeds now Another place dropped It’s not looking good right now
Blackburn and Plymouth picking up points isn't ideal but they shouldn't be our focus. Huddersfield/Sheff Weds/Birmingham are key. I doubt think any of us have ever predicted Blackburn or Plymouth to go down.
I said on the podcast that Blackburn has the toughest run-in, and that included playing Leeds. That win against Leeds is a blow for us, and a huge bolster for Blackburn to get out of the relegation fight.
We have to go for it against Preston. I'd like to see 2 up front. One striker up top just looks so isolated for us. I don't think we can rely on drawing our way safety.

100% agree All the teams around us have got or are getting to the 50 point mark now We really are now running out of chances We have to beat Preston simple as that,we can’t rely on the other teams slipping up no more We’ve really found the wrong time to hit poor form again,we are literally staring at league one right now 3 games decides our season On paper and current form were going down If we’re lucky and I mean lucky we may stay up But that’s based on Huddersfield and Wednesdays results

I suspect Marti will be tempted to do just that, but I do feel we could put all three strikers up front and get nothing. We have tried a good few times having two strikers on at once and it really has not worked sadly. I would rather get rid of all the strikers, and have a 4-2-4 formation, where Chair and Smyth cover the wings (and provide the crosses or alternate attack options), whilst Willock partners Andersen/Hodge in the middle to provide a central attack (and bodies in the box).

Would be hugely surprised if he does this. It would mean shifting to four across the middle which doesn't suit any of Chair, Willock or Andersen because they are too fragile to sit next to Field, Hayden or Colback leaving us with 5 forwards and 5 defenders. That would be too anarchical and leave us incredibly open all game. Sheff Wed could do it because Bannan is technically great and nasty in the tackle. None of our three are like that. Equally, aside from Smyth, we have no pace wide. If he was to play 4-4-2 he would have balance issues on the left with Willock unlikely to track the attacking full back and help out his full back defensively. That would mean Paal or Larkeche would have to start on the left to achieve not only balance but also defensive solidity down that side when out of possession. That would look too defensive, I think, to many fans, even if it did mean allowing us to get two strikers on the pitch. It could also leave us fragile in possession of the football. Willock or Andersen will definitely start, so it won't be 4-4-2.
The alternative is to go to a back three; say Dunne, Cook, JCS or Cannon and Fox either side of Cook. Don't see that happening either. Primarily because it undermines Paul Smyth going forward as he'd be almost certainly pinned as the Right Wing-Back or he ends up getting left out altogether which robs us of our most dangerous player against a team like Preston -- a pacey winger who attacks the full back. It would also cause problems on that left hand side if he's not favouring Paal at the minute. Fox is not a wing-back, he can't play there. He can barely play full-back. So who plays there? Willock? No chance. Chair did against Sheff Wed and was useless. So it would have to be Paal or Larkeche, which would mean playing essentially 6 defenders, 7 if he picks Cannon ahead of Smyth at Right Wing-Back. That makes us even less offensive than normal.
The best option is as I've said elsewhere is to play Armstrong wide as an outside forward, play Smyth on the right as a natural wide man and then play three in midfield, which for me would have to be Hayden as the defensive midfield with Field and Chair either side. Dykes then down the middle unless Frey is fit.
kingfisher but we did also mention Blackburn had goals in them which has proven crucial; 5 at Sunderland, and Szmodics today. I said the key was to finish above Plymouth and I stand by it. There were so many fools online after Tuesday praising the point at Plymouth, but it always looked like a massive two dropped. It turns out it was five dropped given their result against Leicester. I stick by my comments about Huddersfield going down although they look alright and got done by the second dodgiest penalty decision of the week (the first being Rotherham's at West Brom). And I also stick by comments on the pod that said we had to make ourselves safe by the Plymouth game otherwise we were in big trouble. We said we needed four wins; so far we've only had two. We won't get two more. Four points is may prove not to be enough also.
Those defeats at home to 'Boro and Wednesday are the moments our survival has spun on. And though Ainsworth and the board are big factors in this predicament, Martí deserves criticism for his decisions in both of those games as well.
If I'm pushed for answer right now, then QPR, Huddersfield and Rotherham are the bottom three. Proving the Not The Top 20's prediction at the start of the season to be correct.

I agree with jrperry we were effectively relegated after last weeks defeat to Sheffield Wednesday can’t see us beating Preston and Leeds or Coventry We are relying on other teams slipping up and that is really scraping the barrel

How on earth are we 'effectively relegated'? Come on.
We have done PHENOMENALLY well to even give ourselves a chance.
This was the first time we've conceded 3 in a league game since Marti took over. 1 really bad day.
Yes, we've dropped points in matches, but we've also gained unexpected ones too. I am absolutely certain every one of us would have taken this position, 3 points above the dotted line when we had 8 points from 14 games.
It's in our own hands. If we are "staring at League one" how do the fans of the 4 teams below us feel?
Of course we are scraping the barrel and looking at other results, after our start to the season it was always going to be a slog.
Some of the posts are talking like we are relegated!
Huddersfield have to get 4 points from Swansea/Birmingham/Ipswich Sheffield Wednesday have to get 4 points from Blackburn/West Brom/Sunderland
And that assumes QPR suddenly lose 4 in a row to end the season.
Such a lot of football left to be played.
We don't HAVE to beat Preston. Blackburn lost 5-0 to Bristol City, their fans would have been posting the same doom and then they beat Leeds. Nothing is certain in this league.
We have nobody to score our goals That’s why we are all worried northwest mate The problem we have this season is and it sounds a bit cliche But we don’t have a Chris Martin type player to get those vital goals to get us over the line Frey has not delivered and we are desperate for goals right now This is the closest we’ve come to relegation in years Can one of the poorest teams we’ve had in this division actually keep us up The 3 remaining games are a nightmare in my opinion I personally think we are in big trouble now We’ve had our chances and unlike the the other teams we didn’t take them It’s annoying as were so near to avoiding the drop but this useless lot probably won’t get us those points we need to stay up now One win and a draw from 3 games against 3 really good teams on our current form isn’t looking good is it boys and girls

The predicted final table on Football Web Pages has us staying up on goal difference, finishing 21st. It has Huddersfield, Wednesday and Rotherham as the three.
