It was the second highest scoring round of the season and it has led to a bit of a crazy final day...
QPR's 2-1 win on the final day was predicted by kingfisher, stoatey, jimjams, MCM Hoop and QPRBex
moldyhoop, QPRBex, MCM Hoop, stoatey, qprallan, topo79, daveb and loftussi all had Chair as first scorer. MCM Hoop gets his first scorer of the season on the final day, whilst Ghost and woodork end the season without ever getting the first scorer correct!
LurkR, jimjams, woodork, qprfcfromwhitecity, QPRBex, CutePR, Rosco Bosco, moldyhoop and Jalfrezi Rs had the 31-45 first goal time.
woodork and CutePR got the full 3 bonus points as Plymouth won 1-0
The Premier League
The main news is that LurkR is champion for the 3rd time! 3 times in the last 6 season he has taken the trophy which is incredible really!
LurkR somewhat limped over the line over with only 6 points scored in the final 4 games and moldyhoop nearly made him pay, scoring 13 on the final day to jump up from 6th to take the silver medal in his debut season. Very impressive. It is also the first time the number 1 at Christmas has ever gone on to take the title.
jimjams takes the bronze having scored 9 points. Ricardo Rangers and myself who were 2nd and 3rd last week end the season 5th and 6th! In between is qprfcfromwhitecity in 4th who improved hugely after coming dead last in 2022/23!
There was drama at the other end too as SydneyR scored 9 to pip Ghost to survival by a single point. Ghost is relegated for the first ever time in 6 seasons. Both MCM Hoop and Ghost had never been relegated but both have fallen in 2023/24. CutePR and ashqpr also fall back to The Championship ahead of 2024/25 after being promoted in Phase 2.
The Championship
QPRBex hit double figures for the first time all season but not only that scored a whopping 15 points and has somehow secured promotion rising 4 places to 3rd. daveb pips topo79 to top spot but both are promoted with solid last day scores.
MaxQPR started the day 3rd but ends it 6th. The most unlucky player was stoatey who scored 12 but finishes a point outside the top 3. MCM Hoop also scored 12 to finish in mid-table away from the danger of wooden spoons!
Speaking of wooden spoons it was incredibly close...
qprallan scored 6 to escape but loftussi stays 14th despite scoring 7 points. That is because Rosco Bosco and NoahHoop both scored 3 and that trio all end up on 34 points. NoahHoop avoids the wooden spoons on goal difference and it means last season's champion Rosco Bosco has had a huge fall from grace from the title to wooden spoon in 12 months.
kingfisher finishes dead last getting the wooden spoon trophy - finishing at the very bottom for the first time in 9 years!!
Congratulations again to LurkR for joining Rosco Bosco as a record equalling 3 time champion of the QPR Prediction League.
