According to Darren Moore the Sheffield Wednesday manager there were several Championship clubs trying to get Mide on loan.
It's always a good judge of a players ability when several clubs are chasing them. It seems that Moore had already spoken with the player and that's what had swayed his decision to depart for the steel city.

It always surprises me stoatey that all managers do not talk directly to the player. Often when players join QPR they mention talking to Warburton as what tipped the balance... Anyway, wish him well and hope he comes back even better!
Why? I suspect he is relatively low cost and we could be losing a few this summer, either because they are on higher wages or because they will get us some millions in transfer fees. To be fair he did show some promise in the early days so perhaps someone feels that he can still make it.

We keep Shodipo but let Dom Ball go. So strange.
It's 6 years since his debut. He's never improved. He gets loaned out every season and rarely impresses yet we still keep giving him another year. He had loads of opportunities at the end of 19/20 after lockdown and did very little.
IMO this is the fault of Sir Les. Giving extensions to players like Charlie Owens and Mide Shodipo was a continuation of the mismanagement that has plagued us since TF, RG and their mates took over the club.
