There must be a strong pacy centre back we can loan from a premier league team We have no pace at the back and we got fully exposed yesterday I think we're all angry about yesterday and I'm looking forward to my work mates taking the pee tomorrow (not) But if McClaren had got a point from the first two games we wouldn't of been so peed off right now Huddersfield got battered 6-1 today and their fans aint calling for anyone's head Yes West Brom are no Man City but they are a good side with very good championship players McClaren got his tactics totally wrong and our team simply gave up but as northwest points out We have to see what happens in the next couple of games
Names like Robert Huth, James Collins, Gareth Macauley all have lots of experience and are still looking for somewhere to ply their trade.
I'd take them, but the reason we should be doing what we can to get Onuoha back is he is the perfect foil for Leistner due to his pace and power.
Huth or Collins alongside Leistner still leaves us exposed to pace. Leistner really does turn like the titanic and having another big guy next to him doesn't seem to work.
I can't disagree that Ned has some pace and would be an ideal fit alongside Leistner but I think that stubbornness on one or both sides will stop this from getting over the line. Lets hope I'm wrong and that in a weeks time we have maybe Ned and one of the others in the fold.
One of the things that I'm not sure about is whether the players who are free agents are governed by the end of August deadline or whether they can be picked up at anytime because they are unattached. This would give those players a stronger negotiating hand as they would know that there is no rush for them to sign by 31/8 because as clubs really start to struggle in Sept/Oct they might attract clubs in the Premier League as well as the Champioship.

My understanding is that if a player is a free agent before the end of the transfer window they can be signed at any time. Any player who is released by a club and made a free agent after the end of the transfer window can only be signed during the next transfer window.
Football London.com are reporting that the Chief reportedly turned down an offer from QPR that was 'incentive-based against appearances', before ultimately opting for a move to the MLS with Real Salt Lake.
Speaking to the BBC, Onuoha said: "I'd only missed about 10 weeks of football in three years so I felt it wasn't right, especially as I knew they were trying to recruit other players for similar or more money."
While QPR have declined to comment when requested by Football.London, Onuoha's claims go a long way to showing just how severe the FFP punishment was for the club.

If true this seems a baffling move by the club. Even now I picture him alongside Leistner as a superb pairing with a bit of everything.
I was always under the impression the club tried to keep him but he simply left as he wanted to move home. This suggests otherwise and the club would deserve criticism.

I have long said that the club operates using smoke and mirrors but this time they seem to have completely clammed up. I'm sure that if the story wasn't true they would have issued a quick rebuttal, however, in this case they have declined to comment. This makes me think it is true.
Over the last few years the decisions made by the club have been very strange and this seems another one to add to the list!
