Ollie struggled with no quality striker; inherited some duff players and others on PL wages; could not spend his way forward; never had a stable Back 3 or Back 4 because of major injuries; brought development players up into the squad; and still managed mid-table! What could he have achieved without his hands tied? We will never know...
Exactly. I'm not sure Guardiola could have done much more!
Maybe McClaren is just putting himself out there and it's all agent talk he's coming to us There's a lot of managers jobs going and he may then say QPR have offered me a deal and if you want me it will cost you more

When Holloway was sacked I expected McClaren to be announced the next day (given all the rumours).
The fact that 48 hours on and there is no news perhaps it isn't as clear cut as we thought. Perhaps there is an actual process of deliberations and interviews going on.
McClaren is not a manager. He's a good coach (as he proved with Man Utd and us) but I wouldn't trust him as the full manager. Happy to be proven wrong though!

Not sure I can stay composed for another season of 'development' - i.e. disappointment.....
Don't like Allardyce. Moyes has a patchy record since leaving Everton. And neither of them are likely to consider us unless we are planning on a complete change of direction. Surely we're not going to go back to spending big!

Good point re what would attract an experienced manager to QPR! It is possible that McClaren has something to prove, but I bet he has a clause in his new contract stating he can leave early if QPR do not get promoted next season. On top of that, any new manager would be looking for assurances that spending will increase considerably in order to get the right players in the right holes - i.e. not strikers or CBs at the end of their career but rather players who will be starting each game for a good few seasons!
