I’m reading a Bosch book at the moment by Michael Connelly, didn’t think I would like it (it was one of only a handful on sale when I wanted a book for a train journey) but really enjoying it. Someone else mentioned to me that the tv series was good.

His name comes up a lot in the credits at the start of the show so I think he is heavily involved, so if you like the book you'll probably like the series.
I discovered the joys of binge-watching a couple of years ago, and lockdown provided more time-fuel for that particular fire. I've seen a LOT of stuff. Until now I would have maintained that if stranded on a desert island for a year and allowed just one box set to take, it would have been 'The Bridge' every time. Until now, because 'The Bridge' has a rival.'Dark' on Netflix; it's a German series mixing time travel, the apocalypse, the sinister and the downright weird and wonderful.
The first 2 series of 'Dark' had me riveted to it. So in preparation for the 3rd (and final?) series which started on Saturday I decided to rewatch the whole of series 1 and 2. It's even better the second time of watching, picking up on clever plot details and connections that were obscure on first viewing. Sorry if I rambled on a bit, but frankly it's mind-blowing genius.

Sounds like a sci-fi one, so not normally something I would consider, but as I know you like the Scani-noirs too I will give 'Dark' a whirl!
Been doing a bit of binge watching too during these strange times. Can recommend both Vikings and the Bridge but one that had me gripped and totally agree with previous comments, Chernobyl is both amazing and frightening for anyone who remembers it happening.
Mindhunters on netflix is very good. It is about the origins of using psychological profiling to catch serial killers. It is based on true stories and interviews with the killers. Very interesting.

My missus is heavily into true-life stories and it sounds as if this is one we can both enjoy!

Mindhunters is terrific. The only downside - a big one imho - is that there is no season 3+; mindbogglingly, they shelved it after 2 seasons, when it had really got going.

It is my major gripe with any series, when it doesn't end properly. They obviously don't know they are getting cancelled so don't tie up the stories, then leave you in limbo.
Mindhunter is terrible for that. For two series it had little scenes of a killer and there was no payoff whatsoever. Utterly pointless!
