What about Ollie Has he got a job,I can't remember
I think Ollie went on a little Quest ! Seriously, he would do a reasonable job there but I do not think his heart would be in it. On the other hand, Steve Bruce has something to prove and would be willing to try. One interesting snippet from the recent podcast with Les Ferdinand was that amongst his chosen Best Eleven was Ollie! Apparently Les felt his energy up and down the pitch was amazing, and was more than happy to have him in his team as a grafter. Quite an accolade!
Steve Bruce has been appointed Sheffield Wednesday manager.
He is not taking over until 1 February, does anybody know why there is a month delay?
I assumed it was for a long-arranged holiday or a medical procedure, but the Mirror had this titbit:
The 57-year-old, who began his managerial career at city rivals Sheffield United, told Wednesday he wanted to spend Christmas and New Year with his family after losing both parents this year.
Foe me it is a good choice for both Wednesday and Bruce, so I wait to see what impact he manages to make there instead of Villa.
Thanks kingfisher. I agree it is a good choice. He didn't quite sign the right players at Villa but his past track record is excellent. The only issue at Wednesday is he won't have too much money to spend and a possible future embargo if they don't meet FFP rules.
Gary Rowett has been sacked by Stoke after half a season in charge.
It has been coming. Considering he knows the championship so well his signings last summer were bizarre. He let players who were solid and knew the league leave whilst bringing in too many square pegs for round holes.
Very surprising news Maybe they will nick Steve McClaren now (lol) He was doing a alright job i thought They were 4th and we’re still in with a shout of promotion

It shows how crazy the game remains as to sack a manager when you are 4th seems bizarre.
Yes they have probably lost any chance of automatic promotion but they are dead certs to end up in the play offs so what can a new manager really achieve over the next 10 games? Surely ahead of the play offs they were better sticking with the manager who has been with them all season and knows them best?
They lost Barnes back to Leicester in January and he had been key for them. I feel sorry for Moore really.
Let's face it sacking a manager when you are 4th is a stark contrast to us, when we are all still rather accepting of McClaren despite 1 win in 12 (probably as we know nobody could do much better with the squad we have)
