I am greatly saddened to have to inform you that Brian Pamment, our legendary member 'pamment8', has passed away.
I am sure some of you, like me, noticed he had not been online since 4th December. As a daily contributor his prolonged absence had alarm bells ringing. I managed to track down his daughter Carly who confirmed Brian Pamment passed away on Sunday 16th December.
Brian had a heart attack on the 5th December and was taken to hospital to have a stent fitted. However he had 45 minutes without oxygen and blood to a part of his brain whilst the paramedics were working on him at home. This had caused a lot of damage to the brain, to which he would not wake up from his induced coma or react to anything. His end of life care started on the 11th December, sadly passing away on 16th December.
Known as ‘pamment8' to all of us he joined QPRnet in 2010 and moved over to Hoops & Dreams with us in 2017. He posted in his own unique style; you could tell if a post was from pamment8 without even looking who had posted it! No QPR debate will be quite the same again.
He was a staunchly loyal lifelong QPR supporter and no matter whether you agreed with his opinions or not, he thought about and posted about QPR every single day and he will be greatly missed.
His posts could have you laughing one minute and pulling your hair or the next; I am sure you will agree he is an irreplaceable character and his absence will be felt on Hoops & Dreams long, long into the future. The sad loss of pamment8 will create a huge void.
Who can forget that he predicted QPR would win every match for the past 7 years! Classic pamment8.
I am sure I speak for all of us when I say our thoughts are with his daughter Carly and the rest of the Pamment family.
If you wish to get in touch with his daughter Carly to share your condolences she is on twitter (Via @pammentcarly) or if you send me a private message I can pass you her mobile phone number for direct contact.
I'll leave the last word to pamment8 with his Ultimate QPR Team posted last summer:

Rest In Peace Brian 'pamment8' Pamment
Forever a member of the QPR family.
