I just read that Dwight Gayle has been given a 2 match ban after being caught cheating. Noe its good news for QPR as he cant play against us, but what erks me is that he cheated to earn a penatly that meant WBA got a draw from the game.
My issues is that he has been banned for 2 games meaning WBA habe efectviely been punished but how fair is that on Forest? They lost 2 points due to a cheat, shouldn't they get something in return?

The problem with this is players dive all the time but nothing gets done consistently.
They need to be punished even if nothing is given. That may send a stronger message that diving won't be tolerated. Currently they only punish them if a penalty is given our something but as you say that is too late for the team who lost out.
Why did this one stand out from other incidents Is this a new thing I’ve never heard of it before We certainly won’t miss him at Loftus Road Whatever happens forest wont get their 2 points back
surely some sort of points given to the team that got robbed?
Understand your feeling of not enough been done to correct a game's result and send a harsh lesson to 'divers' but the FA needs to sort this out first, then the referees follow that instruction/rule, and players decide if the risk is still worth it.....

Cheating cannot be condoned but it's been part of football for years. In most matches you will see strikers diving and defenders holding or putting their arms around an opponent. Referees can't really win because if they dont see the offence then they are slaughtered and if they do see the offence and start booking or sending off players they are accused of spoiling the game and being over zealous.
Im not a great fan of VAR but going forward I would expect it to pick up a Dwight Gayle type incident and the penalty decision would be reversed at the time.
