Week 28 was another tough, low scoring week. For a start, no-one correctly predicted a draw because there weren't any!
There were 6 home wins but only 6 players correctly predicted one. This was largely because 11 of us wrongly predicted Palace to beat Brighton. The correct predictions were Forest beating Hull (kingfisher, surrey chad, singlespeed & QPRBex), Reading beating Wigan (SydneyR) and Charlton beating Portsmouth (MCM Hoop). No-one expected the wins for Cardiff over West Ham, Newcastle over Everton or Arsenal over United.
So most of the points were scored on the away wins with 10 correct predictions. 4 players correctly picked Bristol City to lose to Leeds (northwesthoop, qprallan, CutePR & QPRBex). 3 correctly picked Blackburn to lose to Preston (singlespeed, minxymartin & me). And 3 got Birmingham losing to Villa (QPRSmith, SydneyR & ashqpr). No-one picked Palace to lose against Brighton.
So top scorers this week were singlespeed and SydneyR with 5 points - a good score in a tough week. QPRBex also got 2 correct predictions for 4 points.
With so few points scored there wasn't a lot of movement in the table. At the top LurkR failed to score for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. This is quite a surprise given that he'd scored for 17 weeks in a row before that. My 3 points mean that I am now only 1 point behind him.
singlespeed and MCM Hoop have made a bit of a break from pack chasing 3rd place. They are both on 86 points, 5 ahead of ashqpr and northwesthoop. Rosco Bosco is 1 point further back on 80.
At the bottom, QPRSmith's 2 points mean that he is now only 2 points behind ranger boy and 4 behind stoatey, both of whom failed to score this week. SydneyR's 5 points mean that he jumps from 18th to 15th.
In case any-one is wondering about the abandoned Accrington v Sunderland match from week 16, it is now scheduled for 2nd April.
