QPR came back to clinch a dramatic 2-2 draw against Hull - a draw that only LurkR and ashqpr predicted but neither went for 2-2
It was still quite an influential round in the competition though with those who selected Bowen taking a big step in the right direction over those who didn't - a real case of the have and have nots with 9 players failing to score more than 1 point and the rest getting at least 6!
stoatey, singlespeed, Ghost, LurkR, MCM Hoop, MaxQPR, ashqpr, e17hoop, CutePR, ranger-boy and Rosco Bosco are those who got Bowen as first scorer.
singlespeed was the only player who got the early 0-15 first goal time and only single points were picked up from the bonus match as Villa won 3-0
Bonus match 2 involving Wigan and Bolton had a whopping 7 goals so everybody took a substational hit
It was the first time both LurkR and ashqpr have got a first scorer prediction correct this season, leaving SydneyR as the only player who hasn't predicted a first scorer this season.
We also had 3 players - singlespeed, LurkR and ashqpr - hitting double points after 11 rounds when nobody achieved that feat which was a record!
The 'have and have not' scenario is clearly illustrated in Division 2 with the new top 5 all scoring at least 7 and those now in the bottom half slumping.
It is quite incredibly the first time since Match 3 that CutePR scores more than 6 points and she is up to 3rd. MaxQPR and ashqpr rise 2 places each into the play off places at the expense of kingfisher and myself. At the top Rosco Bosco and ranger-boy maintain their stranglehold on the 2 automatic promotion places.
The bottom 3 are now all at least 5 points from safety as the battle to avoid wooden spoons begins in earnest.
In Division 1 is was a dramatic round with huge consequences at the top.
Previous leader surrey chad scored just 1 point and drops all the way to 4th and is now 7 points off the top!
The new leader is singlespeed who (despite QPR not losing this round) still picked up double points as mentioned above and is top of the table for the first time at any stage for the first time in nearly 4 years; since Match 3 of the 2015/2016 season when we were back on QPRnet! What a time to find such form with only half of Phase 3 now remaining. Don't forget singlespeed is newly promoted so had no bonus points! LurkR is up 1 place to 2nd after his own double point haul with reigning champion Ghost keeping tabs on them in 3rd.
stoatey, e17hoop and MCM Hoop all rise 1 place as qprallan drops 3 places to 8th. qprallan topped Phase 2 and started this Phase strongly but has now only scored 3 points in 5 games
Below them QPRsmith is now 16 points from safety and QPRBex has fallen 8 points from safety having finally scored after 4 previous blanks but it still means just 1 point from the last 5 games.
We now head into an international break, I will add the upcoming fixtures shortly and the FA Cup competition Semi Final results will follow tonight!
